I think it's a double edged sword when it comes to writing a biography. A lot of artists make it sound like someone else is writing it. I had an epiphany a while back, honesty is always the best policy. So, this is me writing this. I will have something better when I can get my shit together. Here's what you need to know:
My career as an entertainer started early. I was always performing stand up and rock concerts for my family. I thoroughly enjoy making people smile and sing. I like knowing that in some ways, I can evoke emotions and people can identify with my self-expression through music. I live to play another show, and I absolutely will always play music in some capacity.
One of the biggest reasons I am in music today, aside from mom buying my first instruments, was my first instructor. Kyle, was an accomplished singer, songwriter and guitarist who excelled in school and otherwise had a bright future. Tragically his life ended at the age of 18 when he was struck by lightening. It was at that moment, I decided I had to go on with my music, because Kyle couldn't. I was 8 years old.
20 years later I am still playing my guitar and I have a pretty nice little catalog of original tunes under my belt. My music is this funky blend of Rock, Blues, Country, Hip-Hop, Latin and Soul. I'm still working on a more homogeneous sound but at the same time, I don't feel an artist needs to identify him or herself with labels. The music should speak for itself.
For the last two years I was the front man for LUCASCOOKUS in Austin, Texas. This has been an amazing experience, now I'm ready to do something new. I have had some amazing experiences and played a lot of shows. One door has closed and another is opening. I anticipate many great things in the next year to come and I want to thank you for being part of it. The tunes on here are a collection of my work over the last few years. Please listen and let me know what you think!
