“I would begin with saying that this band called Without Face is one of the most individual bands in Hungary. In their music the finest sides of gothic, thrash and progressive metal are mixing to unique mixture. They have proved effects, but neither of them is exact.†(Metal Hammer Hungary).
Forming in 1997 the band quickly became renowned on the underground metal scene thus gaining their first record contract in 1999 from American label Dark Symphonies whereby they released their first album Deep Inside.
This was followed by their phenomenal second album Astronomicon which was released by Elitist/Earache having signed a contract with the legendary underground metal label.
The release was a real breakthrough for the band and it went on to be the Independent Album of the Month in Metal Hammer UK and scored KKKK from Kerrang. It demonstrated a fantastic ability to mix complex arrangements of progressive metal, classical and jazz with the darkness of goth music. The combination proved to be a potent mix.
The success of the album led to a European tour with Samael and Cathedral and also many other tours and appearances with the likes of Arch Enemy, Paradise Lost, Opeth and The Gathering.
The band have followed up the tour with many gigs throughout Europe over the past few years performing songs off the two acclaimed albums along with several new pieces.
