I first practiced yoga in 1992. I am now an experienced and compassionate yoga instructor following my dream. I incorporate Hatha, Vinyasa, and Therapeutic Yoga into a comprehensive teaching practice..............................................I was certified by Integral Yoga Institute New York in 2005.
I was given the Sanskrit name TEJAS by the institute and my instructors. TEJAS has several interrelated meanings: a spiritual glow, the fire element, brilliance. I was honored to be invited to teach at Integral. I have ever since. ......................................Shortly after graduation there, I did a certified Vinyasa training course with the world renowned Shiva Rae, of California. ........................................My next training was with Cheri Clamette for a certificate in Therapeutic Yoga. Therapeutic Yoga is highly recommended for anyone with limited mobility, recovering from illness or grief, suffering from stress and anxiety, or simply after a difficult day.........................................Another place that I am honored to teach is Friends Indeed in SoHo. Their primary purpose is offering support and services to anyone dealing with any life-threatening illness, caregivers and those finding their way through grief and bereavement.................................................
Friends Indeed is headed by Cy O’Neal who was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Cy has studied directly with Ram Dass and many others. I am grateful to count her as one of my greatest teachers..................................................
At Friends, I have developed a program of yoga based on self-acceptance and healing; incorporating aromatherapy, Reiki and Hatha yoga as appropriate for the population.
