About Me

Born December 5, 1983, in Miami, Florida to a Cuban guitarist/songwriter father dedicated to classic rock and proffessional vocalist mother who favored pop and disco, it wasn't long till Robert Elias began singing along to the latest by Queen, Michael Jackson and Elton John on the radio. " I love artists who have the ability to push the envelope, I want to be like those artists, its inspiring," says Elias.Elias has an explosive personality and an equally exceptional voice. Like many musicians he is chasing his dreams with great conviction and determination. His soulful blend of pop, rock and rhythm & blues truly sets him apart from any other artist in the music business. He started his proffessional career at 15 when he began singing demos for the Latin music industry. His voice first garnered attention after singing a demo for songwriters Carlos Celles and Barbie Larrinaga. His version of a Spanish song landed Celles and Larrinaga a spot on Latin pop star Luis Fonsi's 2005 album, Paso A Paso. As a teenager, he participated in musical theater and discovered his passion for acting as well.In late 2005, Elias joined forces with songwriter Chris Alvy and platinum drummer/producer David Elliot Johnson (Sheryl Crow, Backstreet Boys, Expose). Robert had a rare natural talent far too gifted to be contained within the demo confines of studio walls. So, the team got to work on Elias' self titled Spanish album and shortly thereafter on his English album, Get The Doctor.Robert worked with the best in the industry on the project, including vocal and media coach Nick Cooper (Beyonce, Mario, Kenny Lattimore), as well as stylist Paige Geran (Christina Aguilera, Robin Thicke) and up and coming photographer Rachel Kemper (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Stephen Marley). In 2006, he walked the red carpet at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival in support of the Latin film industry and the growth of the Latin entertainment community." I believe in a better Latin community, my parents always taught me to believe in real artistry, honest artistry and I'm ready to bring a refreshing change to Latin- American music and culture," said Elias. But like many other young and naive pop artists before him, Elias was placed under a shelf by management and record label because of demand for bigger artists. His relationship with his management company and record label came to an end early in 2008. "I was surrounded by people I thought I could trust, but couldn't," says Elias. "But, I didn't want to fade away, I was gonna give it many more shots, I've worked too hard to let others destroy my dream."Currently, Elias is blowing up in South Florida, even being featured in Metro Mix Magazine & The Miami Herald. He performs all over the place with his rock band High Tolerance at venues including Knightime Billiards at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, the Clevelander on South Beach in Miami, Lulu’s at the Beach Place on Las Olas Boulevard, the Dubliner at Mizner Park in Boca Raton and Martinibar inside the Shops at Sunset Place in South Miami. Robert has also been introduced to the Los Angeles market showcasing at The Mint for Paramount Pictures productions and opportunites internationally.Additionally, Elias is still very hard at work on two new solo albums, both in english and spanish. His songwriting efforts have recently landed him the opportunity to colaborate with Latin icon Jon Secada, who is slated to release his comback record in summer 2009. Elias co-wrote possible single, Corazon En Pedazos. Robert garnered the interest of many industry moguls and hopes to sign another record deal by the end of the year.In a crowded market, Robert Elias shines as a modern voice of our times with music that inspires feeling and provokes thought. Robert Elias may be a new name to audiences, but he represents determination, with that in mind he is sure to leave his mark on the music industry.-Melissa Serna, Journalist I created my layout at KillerKiwi.net
