Fate Under Fire emerged out of Sacramento CA in the summer of 2008 with the intentions of fulfilling their life long dreams; playing music for a living. The band was originally set-into-motion by Vocalist/Guitarist David James and it took a little over a year find the right line-up to complete the four piece. David started on his musical path at the age of three when his mom introduced him to the piano and he has not lost focus to this very day. The frontman just recently graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in the field of Audio Engineering. All of the material that has been recorded up to date by Fate Under Fire has been recorded, produced and mixed all in David's home studio.
Drummer, Rob Pierce was an excellent first addition to Fate Under Fire. Rob proved to have the drive and talent that David was looking for in a drummer. Right away, the two of the started working on new material. About six months had pasted before the finally came across Guitarist Chris O'Keefe. Chris had been in a few smaller touring bands before Fate Under Fire and was looking for a band that could take it to that next level and beyond. Besides solid guitar playing, one thing Chris brought to the band was his interest in business. Currently, he is a Marketing Major in college and plans to use that to the bands advantage. The final piece of the puzzle was Bassist Alvie Gonzalez who joined Fate Under Fire in the Fall of 2008. With a musician as a father, Alvie grew up around music his whole life. His dad taught him much of the basics and, much like Chris, Alvie had been in and out of numerous bands looking for the right group of guys until he found FUF.
Fate Under Fire is a relatively young band but in the short time that they have been together they have been taking giant steps in the right direction. Within only about 2 months of being together they played their first show at the Boardwalk with national touring acts including The Material and Nural. At the same time also recording and releasing a two song demo featuring "Holding On" and "Not Like You." In the mean time, the band has returned to the Boardwalk few times and their following is clearly growing. "Not like You" has been consistently in rotation for the since October 2008 on local rock radio stations including 98 Rock, Quad 106.5, and The Zone 100.5. Currently, Fate Under Fire is working very hard on their first full length disc which they are pushing to have out by March/April. Upon the releasing of the record, Fate Under Fire plans to tour North America in the summer of 2009.
