Some people call me but you can call me

PLEASE VISIT THIS SITE: http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/lax/70809437.html A quote from aforementioned site: "TCRB is not just a catchword – it’s a beautiful and natural lifestyle. "

Another update...I seem to have outgrown my "random phase" and settled into domestic life. I figured out who I am and what I wanted from life and set out to achieve. I have never been one to settle for anything less than everything, which has gotten me far in life. After college, I packed up and moved 750 miles away from everything I knew and loved to find my way in life. Though times got rough, they always got better and everything I have been through has helped make me who I am today. Today, I am truly happy. I have an extraordinary man who never ceases to amaze me, I have a supportive family who is always there for me, I am successful in my career, I have the greatest friends anyone could hope for, I have a beautiful home. The list goes on an on. I am so thankful for all that I have. If life is this good now, I can't wait for all that the future brings.

It has taken me some time, but I have learned to be comfortable in my own skin. I know that I am special and deserve the best. I will not settle. I am a good person-smart, attractive, friendly, generous, loving, appreciative, fun, playful, loyal, flirtatious, sometimes naughty, sometimes nice, hard-working, motivated, ambitious, out-going and a good friend. I do have flaws, but I'm not going to lay those out here. You'll have to figure those out yourself ;-)

I enjoy being around people. I love hanging out with friends and throwing parties. I love to cook for people. I've been told I'm a pretty good cook. I like to go out with friends to dinner or a movie or bars. It doesn't really matter. I just like to be surrounded by people I care about. I'm a hopeless romantic at heart. I believe in true love and I am so glad that it has come into my life.

I'm an animal lover. I have a female Rottweiler mix named Charley, and two cats-Ion and Eddie. Bonus points if you get the humor with the first one. Oh, did I mention that I'm a total chemistry nerd? My animals keep me company and are always happy to see me. They love their momma!

I love watching movies. I can't narrow down a favorite, but I do love animated movies like Shrek and Cars. I also love Grease, Forrest Gump, Arthur, A Christmas Story, and just about anything with Johnny Depp. MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmm. I love me some Johnny Depp. Oh, sorry...got side-tracked there for a minute.

I can't possibly write everything about me here, but I am a very open person. If you like what you see so far, feel free to message me. I'm always up to meeting new people. Disclaimer: I do NOT respond to every message I receive. If I did, I would never leave my computer. Don't take it personally if I don't reply.

I am an independent girl who knows what she wants out of life. Some may be put off by that. To those people I say: You can't live your life being someone you aren't for someone else. Take charge. If you can't be who you want to be, then why be at all? Life is too short to be weak. Life is also too short to hold grudges. So, eyes open, chin up, shoulders back, chest out and take on the world. Don't be afraid to face challenges head on. Sometimes, things get tough but those things add to your character. Treat each day as an opportunity to overcome. No matter what, you will persevere.

My Interests

I like hanging out with friends, going to bars/clubs, reading, working out and cooking. I like to ski, but there aren't many ski-able mountains in the ATL.

I really like to travel to get to ...

I'd like to meet:

New rule: If you're someone who is trying to friend me in an effort to promote your (insert random crap here), don't bother. I'm not interested in adding your band or checking out your boozin gear. Please don't waste my time.

I am an aries. "Mars is the Aries' ruling planet . It makes the people of this sign have an active life, constantly giving them a reserve of energy. That makes them careless, unruly, ambitious and competitive. This sign's place in the horoscope is first, and the people of this sign also want to be first in all. Aries is a very self-confident sign. Aries' symbol is a ram-an animal which tries to get everything by impact of a head-and everyone who ever dealt with an Aries knows that they go directly to their purpose as persistently as the rams." That about describes me. If you're not into that personality, you probably don't want to meet me.

I want to meet a man who makes me feel special. Someone who makes my heart flutter at the sound of his voice. Someone who can make me smile without saying a word. Someone who I can feel absolutely comfortable with, whether we are alone watching a movie, drinking wine in front of a fire, or out with all of our friends. I want someone who appreciates me for who I am. I want someone who loves me and lets me know it. I want someone who I can't get enough of. I want to meet the other half that makes me feel whole. I know it sounds cliche, but that is truly how I feel and I will find him someday. UPDATE: I have found him!!!

I like people with whom I can have an intelligent conversation. But, I don't like people who constantly have to sound smart to make themselves feel good. I hate people who have to "one-up" me on everything I say, or who have some comment about why I'm wrong. I also love people that I can be totally silly with and not worry about sounding stupid. I like to meet people with interests similar to my own, but I am open to new things. I want to live like to the fullest, so if you're someone who has a new experience for me to try, send me a message!

This is so nerdy, but I like someone I can talk science with. I am a chemist, after all. I enjoy talking about my job, but some of the things I do tend to go in one ear and out the other for most people. Bonus points if you know what high performance liquid chromatography is.

Famous people I'd like to meet:

1. Johnny Depp. Duh. Did you not see my layout? *shivers* mmmm...

2. Al Pacino. One of the greatest actors of our time. I have tremendous respect. Whooooo-ah.

3. President Bill Clinton. I figure most people would say they'd like to meet a president. I don't really care to, but if I did, I would meet Clinton. He seems like a nice guy.

6. Harper Lee. To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my all time favorite books.

7. The Detroit Red Wings. Okay, I know that is more than one person, but cut me some slack. The wings rule and I love them.

8. Jimmy Buffett. Nothing makes me feel good on bad day than some caribbean soul.

Music:

I'm pretty much open to anything. I love me some country music, to the dismay of all my friends back home I'm sure. My all time faves: Journey, Jimmy Buffet, Barenaked Ladies, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley...

"When you find yourself In some far off place And it causes you to rethink some things You start to sense that slowly You're becoming someone else And then you find yourself

When you make new friends in a brand new town And you start to think about settlin' down The things that would have been lost on you Are now clear as a bell And you find yourself Yeah that's when you find yourself

Where you go through life So sure of where you’re headin' And you wind up lost and it's The best thing that could have happened ‘Cause sometimes when you lose your way it's really just as well Because you find yourself Yeah that’s when you find yourself

When you meet the one That you've been waitin' for And she's everything that you want and more You look at her and you finally start to live for someone else And then you find yourself That’s when you find yourself

When we go through life So sure of where we're headin' And we wind up lost and it's The best thing that could have happened ‘Cause sometimes when you lose your way it's really just as well Because you find yourself Yeah that's when you find yourself"

-Brad Paisley, Find Yourself

Movies:

Into: comedies, dramas, date movies Not into: Jackie Chan and action movies

Television:

Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Boston Legal, anything on the Food Network-especially Alton Brown's Good Eats (and *hangs head* American Idol)

"Saying there are too many children is like saying there are too many flowers." ~Michelle Duger (look her up online. this chick can't get enough)

Books:

I'm really into Patricia Cornwell, though I feel her recent stuff is losing the original draw of the Kay Scarpetta series. I pretty much like any forensic science related books. Two top must reads: Stiff by Mary Roach and Death's Acre by Dr. Bill Bass. I have recently expanded my horizons to other fiction including Wally Lamb and John Irving.

Heroes:

My mom and my grandma are probably my two heroes. They are extremely confident, successful, independent women. They have been imperative in my development into the person I am today. Also, my late grandfather. If he could see me now, he would be so proud of the person I have become. I miss you, Pop.

Wine Musings minus the wine

I wonder what will become of wine musings if I don't add the wine? As I sit here ripping music for my new Nano, I find myself with little to do but peruse the interwebs. For those of you who know me, ...

Another wine inspired post...

You'd think that I would have learned by now that I should not be allowed near a computer after a couple of glasses of chardonnay. I guess not. Why have I been drinking chardonnay alone on a Sun...

An addendum to my last post... Sometimes making a statement to others makes it easier to believe for myself-a feeble attempt at a self-fulfilling prophecy. The truth of the matter is this: there ...
