About Me
A-Key is a music producer, composer, performer, and engineer. He was born in Tokyo Japan. And came to United States in 1998.
He was fascinated to Japanese traditional instruments at beginning of his artist life. Then he started discovering western music. He plays piano, guitar, bass, and taiko (Japanese Traditional Drum). His curiosity never finished on only music field. He performed drama and TV shows as an actor and a live/recording sound and lighting engineer. He has done countless numbers of shows and recordings in Japan and New York. And at his working field, his compositions and engineering reflect his broad understanding to music, performing, instruments, and staging.His performance, and woks are appearing in many kinds of scenes such as commercial film, drama, fashion show and local band at big venue like Tokyo Dome, Ariake Coliseum, Tokyo Big Site, to small venue like Yaneura, Potato House, Zen, Ritz, Penguin House, 20,000 V, Honda theatre and many more in Japan. And in US, He has appeared at Kupferberg Center, Bergen Performing Arts Center, La Guardia CC Performing Arts Center, Eisenhower Park The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, QCC Auditorium, Colona Park, Queens Botanical Garden, MOMA PS2, Pier 92, Korean Culture Center, Taiwanese Culture Center, Hilton Hotel, Marriot Hotel, Dae Dong Manor, Astoria Manor, Palisadium, Knitting Factory, Club Europe, The Mean Fiddler, M-One Bar, Siberia Bar, Trash Bar, Sky Lounge, Axis, OX/05, Drom, Studio B.P.M., Siena College, Taj Mahar and more.In 2004, his music project group was invited to perform at Pacific Flora captured 5,447,788 visitors in Shizuoka Japan. He started Jazz Series concert in Flushing Area for providing amusement and spreading jazz culture to local people in 2007. He also started Stairway to the Dream series to give a chance to any kind of artists performing on the stage with his partner. His production company and he invited Korean famous singer Jang Yoon Jeong to have her solo concerts in New York and New Jersey and A-Key performed his role of executive director to take of sound, lighting, stage design, orchestra and backline was very successful.He is planning next projects right now and we’ll have chances to see his work including, Jazz Series, Stairway to the Dream series, Lost in the Time Machine Series. His music project and his bands Tagerine on Fire and Noirceur are became more active these days.
