The Slimmer Twins

About Me

Biography:The Slimmer Twins are Jeremy L. White of The Blessings, and Ronnie Younkins of The Blues Vultures and Kix (Atlantic Records).Jeremy and Ronnie have been writing, recording and playing together since Kix disbanded in 1995, which left Ronnie free to pursue other musical avenues. In 1995 Ronnie joined Jeremy's band Jeremy & the Suicides. Prominent influences for their style are Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones and The New York Dolls, just to name a few. In 1996 they recorded a five song cassette titled Subway to Success and played around Baltimore, Md., Pa. and New York City with the Suicides. They sold cassettes at their shows, and with the help of a couple of magazine ads all across the U.S. and overseas. They received much attention from Kix fans, but also gained new fans in the U.S and in Europe. 1997 was spent writing more songs in Baltimore and then moving to Los Angeles. The trip across the country and living in L.A. inspired songs for a new CD. The CD, titled Lack of Luxury, was finally recorded as a duo, with the help of additional musicians. Jeremy sang lead and backing vocals and played harmonica, Ronnie played lead, rhythm and bass guitars and sang backing vocals. They were very fortunate to have Brent Fitz (Union/Vince Neil/Theory of a Deadman/Alice Cooper) play drums on the whole CD. It was recorded at Gilby Clarke’s Hollywood studio. He also produced it, together with Ronnie, and played additional guitar on three of the tracks. Teddy ?Zig Zag? Andreadis (G’n’R, Alice Cooper) played piano on two songs.Ronnie is currently staying in Maryland and Jeremy resides in L. A.. Thoughout 2002 west coast gigs were played by the two of them under the band name The Blessings. In November/December 2002 The Slimmer Twins played several L.A. club gigs, in a new formation, joined by Brian Forsythe on guitar.Ronnie just released his new CD with The Blues Vultures, titled Cheap Guitars & Honky Tonk Bars. It features several songs co-written by The Slimmer Twins, Jeremy even sings lead vocals on one track, "Glimpse Of Soul." Jeremy just finished his new CD with the Blessings. It's a available on the Blessings website.Plans are on the way however, to pick up where they left. Inspired by the success of "Glimpse of Soul," they have plans to write more together and record some more tracks, hopefully for another Slimmer Twins release in the near future.Long live Rock’n’Roll!
