About Me

Some of these songs I wrote in gym class. Some we wrote in the bathroom. Some I obviously didn't write any actual lyrics for, which is embarrassing, when you listen to them ten years later. We were young, the world was new, and when you are a band nerd with a bunch of band nerd friends, the coolest thing to do when you're 15 and it's the mid-90's was start a ska band. So we did. We had fun bleeding profusely at the Vegetarian Grocer, making money for the Pharoh's Golden Cup while getting very little for ourselves, fetching milkshakes for Joel at the Flint Local 432, drinking all of Mephiskapheles' beer at St. Andrew's Hall, interrupting Al-Anon meetings to load in at Tibuta, being very cold at the Majestic Theater, and playing "Build Me Up, Buttercup" with a drunk Marilyn Monroe impersonator in front of Ted Nugent's old manager in the parking lot of a funeral home. Wait, did that happen? It did, and we also got free nachos. We got to play with a lot of our favorite bands, made friends, and also got to silkscreen t-shirts and stickers with stupidly offensive slogans.Oh, we played in a boxing ring once, too.-Al Disco
