Piranha Kultur GmbH
is part of the Piranha / WOMEX group consisting of Piranha Musik, WOMEX and Piranha Kultur. Founded in 1987 in Berlin, the group has developed into an established brand and leading player within the international market of musical and cultural exchange.

Focusing on innovation and tradition, Piranha Kuktur specialises in the development as well as production and communication of cultural programmes and formats including music, performing arts, conferences etc. From our own productions, such as the summer festival classic”HeimatKlänge“ (since 1988), “The Long night of the Soundsystems” as the official after-parade party of Berlin’s famous “Carneval of Cultures”, to the supplying of a broad variety of services like programme consulting and the realisation of events e.g. for cultural institutes, ministries, fairs, awards throughout Germany and abroad - Piranha has become a trusted name in professionalism and cultural diversity.

Recent activities include the programming and production of the musical programme of the “Europafest 2007 – 50 years of the EU Roman Treaties” organised by the German Government (presenting a variety of European music groups and street/walking acts), City Sound Treks 2007 for the State Museums of Berlin, the World Youth Day "Bridging the World Festival" in Cologne, Germany 2005, the Culture Days 2005 of Serbia-Montenegro in four German cities or One World Village for the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Berlin 2007.

ANDY PALACIO PASSES AWAY AFTER HEART ATTACK

Andy Palacio, an iconic musician and cultural activist in his native Belize and impassioned spokesperson for the Garifuna people of Central America, was declared dead tonight at 9pm Belize time due to a massive and extensive stroke to the brain, a heart attack and respiratory failure due to the previous two conditions.
