On Saturday the 19th of July Heineken Refreshing Sounds Sessions hits the beautiful beach of Wijk aan Zee. Our theme for this special event at beach club Timboektoe is Baile Brasil, focussing on the hot and steamy sounds from Brazil, probably the world’s only country where beach clubs never close and the caipirinhas are just around every corner. So expect to shake your booty on Baile funk, Bossa and Samba. But Baile Brasil brings you more flavours. We asked The Man with the Pan to serve a Brazilian BBQ, so expect a lot of worldly delights.At Heineken Refreshing Sounds Sessions internationally known producers challenge a selected band. During the evening hey produce and present their remixes to the crowd. For this fifth edition we asked Dutch Brazilian band Zuco 103 to perform live at beach club Timboektoe. During their performance English producers Seiji (Bugz in the Attic), FC Kahuna and Amsterdam based neo soul singer/producer Benny Sings will remix the band. After the event, visitors receive a card, so they can download the newly made tracks directly from the web. Around 12 o’clock they perform their refreshing sounds.Afterwards, a crazy party breaks loose you simply can’t afford to miss. Expect deejay performances by Seiji (Bugz in the Attic), Antal & KC the Funkaholic (Via Brasil), Mr. Wix, Wannabe a Star and Missing Links. Your host of the evening is Lyrical Tie.During 2008, Hendsum and Young organised Refreshing Sounds Sessions in Den Bosch (Hotel California), Utrecht (Berlin Breakdown) and Amsterdam (Motown, Welcome to Detroit). Artists like Mocky, Platinum Pied Pipers, Marc Mac, Louis Bordeaux, C-Mon & Kypski, Lazer Sword, Black Milk, Guilty Simpson and Kissey Asplund performed.Refreshing Sounds is a concept by Heineken. By naming it Refreshing Sounds, which includes all sponsor activities, events, internet and the Heineken Refreshing Sounds Sessions, Heineken shows (as a refreshing brand) it’s relation with progressive music.Heineken Refreshing Sounds Sessions in Timboektoe (Wijk aan Zee) begins at 20.00 hrs (BBQ starts at 18.00 hrs!) and finishes at 03.00 hrs.
