I love the following but I am not sure who the author is:
I Believe
That I was known and held in love in the mind of my Heavenly Father at the beginning when all things were formed and created
I Believe
That a destiny was appointed for me: a time to be born, a place to live and a loving purpose for my existance
I Believe
That God has extended his loving call to awaken me to the value of my life and it's purpose; to cleanse me and set me free from all that deals death. I hear his call to the gift of this day and the people that will fill it
I Believe
That God has shown me the path of right and lifegiving relationship with himself, with others and with the world around me. I will follow this path wholeheartedly and lead who ever I can into it
I Believe
That God will glorify himself through me this day.
I Believe
that he will accomplish through me, with me and in me infinitely more than I could ask or imagine.
"I am a Christian" by Carol Wimmer
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin." I'm whispering "I was lost," Now I'm found and forgiven.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need CHRIST to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need HIS strength to carry on.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect, My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say.. "I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain, I have my share of heartaches So I call upon His name.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow
