About Me

Kerri Javorka is a fiddler, a violinist, and a songstress with musical influences too numerous to list. Her early musical pursuits were based in Old-Time fiddle, bluegrass, and country, expanding into classical violin and Celtic fiddle in her teens. Her vocal training began at 15, and she studied art songs, opera, and musical theater repertoire for three years before graduating from high school. Kerri attended Montana State University for one year, where she not only continued her operatic studies and played frequently at local Irish sessions but also developed an ear for jazz. Rather than returning to school the next fall, she moved to Austin, Texas on a whim and dove head first into the roots music scene there, exploring further the realm of jazz, Texas swing, and gypsy swing improvisation and vocal techniques. She also performed with the Celtic band "Poor Man's Fortune" and recorded the album "In Good Time" with them in early 2007. After seven months of sun and swing, she was ready to move onward and upward to the "Big Apple"... literally. In September of 2007 she moved to New York where she once again strove to push her limits musically by jumping into the Celtic scene and auditioning for touring acts such as the brand new production "Cal". She was accepted into the project and spent several months rehearsing for live performances but unfortunately tour dates fell through. Kerri recently moved back to Kalispell, Montana- her birthplace- and is preparing for a trip overseas within the next year while spending time writing original music.

New Perspectives

I am deliciously lost.  Not in a scary, "I don't know what I'm doing" way, rather in a sort of floaty, open to anything kind of way.  Every day is a brand new adventure, every morning I wake...
