In the 60’s and 70’s when there were hardly any song writers in Texas, Tex was closely associated with a small group of Texas songwriters including; Jerry Jeff Walker, Towns Van Zant, Janis Joplin and Guy Clark. He later moved to London England for a period of fifteen years, finally returning to the United States in 1994. He currently resides in Long Beach California. Tex is one of the most prolific song writers around having written hundreds of songs with sixty or so on current albums. Tex’s band, “The Dialtones” consists of pedal steel great Mike Johnstone, guitarist Don Ian, drummer Jeff Winter and bass great Peter Freiberger. The Dialtones apply a country rockabilly style which suits Tex’s songs perfectly, delivering strong performances in interesting and exciting shows.
