Crepitus was first started by Ryan Colgan back in 1994 in Provo Utah. He then moved back to California from Utah and met second guitarist Geoff Nakahara and began writing and arranging songs. They then hired on Luke Williams on bass guitar followed by Justin Pointer on drums. Then Geoff, Luke, and Justin went their own seperate ways and Ryan moved to Seattle for a couple years and then came back to join Fate Turns Grey. Fate Turns Grey stayed together for a couple years but then eventually disbanded in 2002. Ryan recorded the EP with friend Pasha Hanover (Moat)...but the band needed a full lineup and Pasha had other obligations so Ryan recruited Nick Jones (ex Vocals for Fate Turns Grey), Chris Chang and Dusty Sato Smith (Deception) and James Almanzar (Legend of Myth). But, 2009 brings Crepitus to a new era.. sadly James had to depart the band but never fear Jessie Vanbeurden, an Aussie death metal transplant, has filled the vacant bass position.
Crepitus is about to finish up recording on the first full length. It should be out within the month. Hopefully a good label wants to pick it up.
