As The Sun Sets

About Me

Formed in the late 90's, Rhode Island's As The Sun Sets having been deemed legends.Producing a genre altering sound.Inspiring many bands up to date now for every cd they produced was unqiue in its own way.Blowing the listener's ear with dynamic blast beats, killer rifts and the occasional break.Oh, and dont forget, some of the best sludge breaks ever and the high vocals.
"'Each individual voice is dead in the silence" impacted the grind and metal scene tremendously.Captivating its audience with everchanging riffs and breaks. Not your typical "catch your attention and the songs done song", the songs were a good healthy time at least 2 minutes or so long for each one, and it was for anyone into grindcore, not boring. As some grind, metal or death bands play music and then the song seems to go too long. No, the songs on this cd are done just right.Long lasting, brutal and exactly what the listener wanted to hear.
In early 2002, 7744 was released and the band suprised all its fans by a big musical change.Though, for anyone into really technical music, every song was a work of art.Every 5 seconds a new riff, crazy vocals with effects and the most intense 40 seconds you ever brought forth to your ears.
In 2002, right after the release of 7744, As The Sun Sets decided to depart, leaving its fans devasated. But for those yearning for more, they decided to put out one more cd entitled 8949, with the same sound and intensity as the previous album. This truly was one of the greatest bands to have existed. It will go down in the books as a great hard hitting band to anything heavy along the lines of good metal or grind.
