About Me

I've had something to say for quite some time. I just never had the right situation to say it. After many years of raising a son and working as a "roadie", I had a few brief stints before being fired as a frontman in a couple of rock groups. All the while, I kept writing. I am motivated by an attempt to rise above the hypocrisy that is the norm of so much of our society. I get really pissed off at the lies of the media and how so many just accept the propaganda as the truth. Then one night in '05 at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Hollywood, Lemmy from Motorhead invited me to join him at the home of Helen Saber, wife of producer Danny Saber( Marilyn Manson, Black Sabbath, The Rolling Stones, U2, Black Grape). With the encouragement of Helen, I put a band together called "Kind Helen". We began to play on a regular basis at The Knitting Factory. It was hard keeping it together and even harder to prevent a variety of lead guitar players from "shreadding" while onstage. "It's NOT that kind of band", I would tell 'em. I finally said F-it! and went on my own. I got a regular weekly gig at the Hooka Lounge on Hollywood Blvd. I knew that I was onto something when the owner of the club told me that several people would come in during the week to ask when I was performing next. There I was, just me and an acoustic Ovation. One night this chick came up to me and said, "when are ya gonna get off your butt and record a CD!? I'm sick of driving up from Orange County every week to see your ass!" Well, I went into the studio with Danny on Sept. 27 2007. I told 'em I wanted to create Modern Psychedelic Rock that you can dance to. We're not done yet. But here's a few tracks that we've recorded so far.found this retro layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments

I followed Lemmy through the dark, winding, route of the infamous Wonderland Road in the Hollywood Hills. Stepping into the ornate 1920's mansion and then seeing the Black Sabbath Platinum record, proudly mounted above the mantle, I asked, "who is this guy?".I met Curt Harding when I was a teenager. I had been writing poetry for some time and wondered if my words could be merged with music. I had a friend who worked at a local Music Store. So I went in, lyrics in hand and asked if he knew of anyone who might be interested in working with me. There just happened to be a couple of "headbangers" standing next to me who heard the conversation and one of them asked if he could read my poetry. This guy read just a few lines and laughed outloud, "this shit is weird, Curt would like it". After calling Curt and giving him some background, I drove up to his place. He lived in a "tack" room just off from his parent's barn at their ranch in the hills of Simi Valley. I knew then and there that I would know this cat the rest of my life.Kevin Haskins of Bauhaus/Love and Rockets got involved when he was working on some of his own tracks at Danny's. I came in to work on my stuff while he was leaving the studio. Danny suggested he listen to some things we were working on and before he left, I had the beat of "Step Back" performed by an icon.

Influences:
After a lifetime of hedonism and debauchery as a "roadie" and then cleaning up my act over two years ago, I decided to have some balls and do my "own thing" musically. My tunes are an expression of the constant battle between my animal lower self and my spiritual higher self. While listening you may hear a sprinkling of the Rolling Stones, Cream, Kiss, Nirvana, Robert Johnson, Johnny Cash, Killing Joke, Love and Rockets, and Echo and the Bunnymen. ..
Sounds Like: The Killers, Queens of the Stone Age, Crystal Method, Blind Melon, Godzillaz
