Funny Car Raises Awareness.... Funny car driver Bill Widen knows about second chances,he got one in 2003 and is using that experience to help others looking for their own second chance. After receiving a lung transplant at the University of Southern California Medical Center, Bill recognized that he was one of the lucky few people who received a transplant . He vowed to help others still on the transplant waiting list. Now, Bill has combined his interest in raising awareness of the need for more organ donors with his love of racing. Since his transplant, he has parlayed his love of motor sports and his need to help others who are going down the long road to an organ transplant into Donate Life SignaturesAcrossAmerica. Bill is the driver of the Donate Life SignaturesAcrossAmerica Mini Pro Funny Car, as well as coordinator of donor awareness events at race tracks and other venues.
