About Me

My first novel, Must've Done Something Good, is out!
**********************************************************
If you love The Sound of Music and Jane Austen (and smart chick lit that doesn't feature shoe worship or dozens of designer name-drops), then Must've Done Something Good is the book for you!
**********************************************************
Available at Amazon , Barnes & Noble and Lulu (Download)
If you live in Central Mass. and have a library card, you can check it out (literally) at CWMARS.org
**********************************************************
What's it about? Read on!:
Sylvie O’Rourke, The Sound of Music devotee and born procrastinator, is about to die. Well, she thinks she is, anyway, and so attempts a last-ditch bargain with God for her life. “You guys are my witnesses,” she tells her sisters somewhere over Connecticut. “If we get out of this plane alive, I promise to do something good with my life.”
Back on firm ground, Kate and Meg won’t let their sister forget her promise, and with their years of practice hitting just the right chords of guilt (“What kind of person lies to God?” Meg wants to know), Sylvie finally caves.
A teaching position at the broken-down St. Matthew’s High School appears to be Sylvie’s perfect opportunity to do some good, though her irreverent style gets her called down to the principal more often than her students. Can Sylvie keep her promise and make it through the year, dignity and sanity intact?

About the Author
Cheryl Cory was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. She spent the first twenty-six years of her life in nearby Holden, where she graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1993. She and her husband Matthew have been living in Worcester since 2004.
Since graduating from Assumption College, Cheryl has held a number of jobs in finance, insurance, healthcare and education (one very long year teaching English to five very large classes of tenth-graders). Writing has been, by far, her favorite occupation.
The Corys have a cat named Betsy who was the inspiration behind the hilarious children’s musical “Professor Smellbottom & the P.U. Patrol.” Her reputation is deserved. They also have one ALF stuffed alien.
When not cajoling strangers into buying her book, Cheryl enjoys reading (non-fiction about why our society is so messed up, followed by hilarious fiction so as not to wind up overly depressed). She also loves long walks with her husband (not necessarily on the beach—around the lake, mostly) and ridding herself of superfluous possessions. Cheryl suspects she may be just a couple of old sweatshirts and some mateless Rubbermaid covers away from nirvana.
