About Me

Hello there! My name is Michelle and I'm a full time office manager / student. I'm studying for my Associates in Accounting and I just finished my Associates in Business Systems Administration on June 13, 2008. I'm definitely going to be continuing school because its important to me to go as far as I can and I want to thank my teacher Mr. Barrett for that. Gotta strike while the iron's hot! I just got married in August of 07 to my husband Daniel. We've been together since June 13th, 2003 which was also the day I graduated and the day he wrecked into the back of my car when coming to meet my parents for the first time. I still drive my 2003 toyota celica that I've had since high school. I moved from a little place called King William County when I turned 18 and I rarely go back. I miss it though, sometimes. The people and all that you leave behind. I just bought my first house in Newport News, VA in January of 2008. I'm really proud of myself for owning a home at such a young age. If money falls in all the right places, I plan on taking a few leisure classes at Thomas Nelson Community College in the near future. Just for things like Art, Creative Writing, and Photography, stuff to further my interests. No kids in the near future even though Daniel wanted to have a baby in the two years after we got married *lol*. Money is a weird thing and it really influences life at the moment.

My Interests

School is probably my number one thing since it influences my schedule a lot. I'm definitely into running my own business one day, but for now I'm focusing on bettering myself for the benefit of whatever company chooses to take me for the right price. :)I love to cook... which is part of the reason I got bigger over the years! I don't get much time to anymore, but I want to start cooking and baking more once school lets up.I'm really into interior design... like so much that HGTV is my backup dream if I ever get a chance to goto design school. I love working on my house when we have the time and money. Right now, my upcoming projects are: getting a huge flowerbed done in the front, getting a garden planted, redoing the bathroom and kitchen & saving money up for an addition. My passions have always been art and music, even if I've lost touch with time to do these things. I love to draw, paint, photography, sing as well as research music. I just don't get time to do these things anymore because of the house and school.I'm really big into reading as well. :)Some other things I love are things like flip flops in the fall, big sweat pull over jackets, things that sparkle and shine, the smell of fresh money, fires in the evening, cuddles in the morning and love love and more love!

Music:

I listen to almost anything. I'm going to steal Andrea's line and say if I like it... I listen to it. If I don't, I turn it off. Some of my favorites of all time are bands like Journey, Chicago, The Who, Queen, Elvis, Motion City Soundtrack, Dashboard Confessional, Angels and Airwaves etc etc. I'd say the genres I listen to most frequently are Top 40, Alternative, Adult Alternative and good old fashion Rock n' Roll.

Movies:

If anything about movies, know this... Blu-Ray owns all DVD's. According to Daniel, we will never have another regular DVD come into our home. *lol* I really don't get to the movies much anymore. Some of the movies I've watched recently are: Jumper, The Golden Compass, Iron Man (which was great!), Beowolf (which was great graphically but story line was pitiful.), and Good Luck Chuck.

Television:

Thank God for DVR! I watch the following shows:* The Hills * Gossip Girl * Hell's Kitchen * The Biggest Loser * Heroes * Dirty Jobs * Deserving Design * Extreme Home Makeover * House * Charmed (on occasion) * American Idol * So You Think You Can Dance * Real World (if its interesting) * Iron Chef * Dinner Impossible * Anthony Bourdain: No ReservationsI'm sure there's some I'm forgetting... I'll add them when I can remember!

Books:

I do some reading in my free time (if there is any!)You can find me at www.goodreads.com where I have a list of all the books in my collection, reviews and what I'm reading now.

Heroes:

God - No matter what I've thought/said in the past... I know everything runs through Him.Christ - He died for me and my sins... Need I say more? I'm forever thankful. :)Joel Osteen - Through his guidance I'm working on me cause I'm just as important as anyone else.Bob Harper - He's taught me that whatever I set my mind to, if I can tell myself everyday its achievable, then it will be.Ray Charles - Overcoming disabilities and struggles and still coming out in a decent place in society is admirable.Elton John - Being different and not afraid to show it is pretty cool in my book.Mr. Barrett - For the brief time that he was my teacher, he was always concerned with my well being and motivated me to want to continue going to school. Thank you so much for that!My Friend, Andrea - Even though I've never told her this... she jump started me wanting to be a healthier person. :)My Friend, Rhonda - While I struggle with being a better person and getting healthier, she always knows when to drop me a line or pep me up so I'm motivated to keep at it!

Nasty Gram!

Pretty much I've been at ECPI forever and they know just how to push my buttons. I was supposed to graduate as summa cum laude, which to translate means I busted my ass to keep a 3.9 + and they jipped...
