About Me

I'm a Minstrel. I adhere to the notion that there are certain people in every society who aren't much good for anything other than story telling and making observations to others about what they see. It's sort of a 'shiftless' occupation because you have no real tangible product (unless you produce a CD). You might loosely call it a 'service'.........but that's putting a grand title to it. A song is gone as soon as you strum the last chord and sing the last word..........you can't put it in your pocket or spend it or eat it or smell it or take it out and look at it. So what good is it anyway? Consider: this 'intangible' actually touches people on a level that doesn't happen with any thing else. Then think further of all the cultures that are and have ever been and they all include(d) some form of music. It gives people an ineffible something that does affect them on a deeper level so I take heart that it rather justifies my being a minstrel................and all songwriter's should take heart that something is happening out there when they play.......you never know how or who you will affect. That makes my 'hard knocks' life rather worth while. And the one thing I've always liked about being a minstrel.........when most people go to their job they say, "I'm going to work now". When a minstrel goes to their job, they say, "I'm going to play now".........sort of reinforces the 'shiftless' idea, but it makes the point. My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I enjoy meeting other singer/songwriters and sharing info (learning) and I enjoy playing for people who love to listen to music.Interesting people who have an opinion are fun too (even if I don't share their opinion).Anyone who has an outlet where I can perform my work (it helps if there's a really 'killer' sound system attached). But I really enjoy watching people as they go about their dailey routines..............that's a form of communication in itself. You can learn alot about a person by watching what they do..............sometimes what people say and what they do, don't line up. And that's interesting in itself.
