About Me


Myspace LayoutsCarole Alexis, is known throughout the world for her versatility, unique style and her above the ordinary approach to dance, choreography, teaching, and performing. As an honors graduate of Maurice Béjart School "Mudra Afrique" created by Maurice Béjart and Leopold Sédar Senghor, Alexis excelled in all variations of dance. Alexis danced as a soloist in Compagnie du Corail, Cie Rick Odums, Cie Les Ballets Jazz de Paris and Cie Irene Tassembedo and has choreographed extensively for television and stage renowned recording artists including Liane Foly, Phillip Lavil, Malavoi and Ralph Tamar. She has also taught and choreographed in many schools and conducted numerous workshops and master classes at SERMAC (created by Aimé Césaire), Ann Lewis School, Rick Odums, Ecole de La Bastille, Paris Centre, Academie de Dance de Paris, Lycée Français ,Lyceum Kennedy, Joe Cavise Dance Center to mention a few. . .Carole Alexis has toured throughout Europe, Africa and the Caribbean giving her an inner fire which embraces the many disciplines and ethnic sparks resulting in surprising, creative, innovative and never- ending movements. Her artistic philosophy is firmly grounded of a no single-track art form. Therefore, she incorporates vocals, music dance, and dramatics into all of her productions. She has received the Proclamation from the City of Orlando for her school and CompanyCarole Alexis also works for the Board of Education in NYC and was Artistic Director for two years at The Bronx Dance Academy. She is currently the Artistic Director of Carole Alexis Dance Company

A methodology that explores different forms of dance is taught to the students, enhancing creativity while developing self-confidence.
