About Me

Her sound posesses sincerity and warmth.” La Vocce del Popolo” November 2003Dora Deliyska was born in 1980 in Pleven, Bulgaria, into a family of musicians. She showed early interests in music and took her first piano lessons at the age of 5. She studied at Music school “P. Pipkov" from 1990 to 2000 in the piano class of E. Karamisheva, and in parallel graduated with excellence from the Secondary School for Foreign Languages, Pleven. She went on to enter the Vienna Academy (“Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst") in year 2000 where she took lessons with Prof. Jürg von Vintschger and Prof. Stefan Vladar. Since October 2005 she has been studying a master degree with Prof. Noel Flores. Miss Deliyska..s range of concert activities both as a solo pianist and with orchestra includes many european countries and distinguished concert halls, such as: Palais des Beaux Arts (Brussels), Concertgebouw (Brugge), Musikverein (Vienna), Bösendorfer Saal (Vienna), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Vredenburg (Utrecht), Bulgaria concert hall (Sofia) and many more. She has also had the opportunity to gain rich experience in the area of chamber music. Additionally to giving concerts, Dora actively participates in the master classes of prominent Professors such as D. Alexeev, H. Kämmerling, K. Hellwig, M. Voskressenksy, M. Kapatsinskaya and others. Her performances were broadcasted by different channels in Bulgarian, Austrian and Dutch TV and Radio. The young pianist is a winner of many prizes of national and international competitions. In 1997 she won the special prize of the national competition “Svetoslav Obretenov", Bulgaria, and in 1998 – the second and special prizes for best performance of a piece from Rachmaninov at the “Rachmaninov Music competition”, Pleven, Bulgaria. In that same year she won the first and the special prizes of the “P. Vladigerov" Music Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria in the accompaniment competition. She also took part in the national competition for young pianists, “D. Nenov", Razgrad, Bulgaria, and won the second prize. In 2002 she won the “Yamaha" competition, Linz, Austria, and in 2003 she won the competition for Viennese Classics, “Prag-Wien-Budapest", in Baden, Austria. The first prize at “Stefano Marizza", Trieste, Italy, in 2003 brought her a number of offers for concerts not only in Italy, but also in Slovenia and Croatia. Due to her success in competitions Dora Deliyska has been invited to perform in many festivals throughout Europe including: “Europalia" in Brussels, Belgium 2002 “Internationale Sommerakademie Prag-Wien-Budapest” - Baden, Austria, 2004 "Laureate days" – Bulgaria, 2005 “Holland Music Sessions” - Bergen, The Netherlands 2005, 2006 "Gelderse Muzieksommer" - The Netherlands 2006 "Brucknertage 2007" St. Florian, Austria 2007 “Eurpean music festival” Sofia 2008 “The world of the piano” Groningen 2008 Dora Deliyska won various scholarships, such as “Dr. Boesch Stiftung";“Joseph Windisch Stipendium”, Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture (Vienna), Labberte Foundation (the Netherlands). This contributed to her successful tuition in the Vienna Academy and also included an exchange semester in “Royal Academy of Music", the Hague, the Netherlands in 2004, where she studied with Prof. Paul Komen.Dora Deliyska currently lives and works in Vienna.www.doradeliyska.net
