About Me

I am an author and experienced Reiki master/teacher and practitioner as well as a writer, blogger, and web designer. I currently write for Celsias, Ethicalforlife and NU and High Spirit magazines. Celsias and Ethicalforlife are environmental blogs with information about climate change, fairtrade, organic and vegetarian/vegan lifestyles and lots more. NU is a new ethical fashion magazine and High Spirit is a magazine about spirituality and self-development. Ethical For Life is my own blog, which I update as often as I can. The main areas I write about are ethical and environmental issues, and Reiki and spirituality, basically, the two things I am most passionate about.
I believe we all have a responsibility to respect our environment, each other, and all the wondrous wildlife on Earth. By living our lives in an ethical way, we can help to reduce our impact on global warming, support the humane treatment of animals and ensure the workers that make the things we buy have basic rights and earn a living wage. The key to ethical living is awareness and knowledge. There is an increasing awareness of the issues that are affecting our planet, and hopefully, through my writing, and the great work being done by others, more people will take responsibility for their actions and embrace a more ethical way of life.
Spiritual growth is a personal and indivdual journey, that we all need to undertake, if we are to find the fullfilment and happiness we seek. To find our purpose on Earth and follow our path, we need to develop our connection to our true spiritual nature and trust in our intuition to guide us. Once we can do this, our life makes sense and starts to flow in a smoother and more natural way. Through the Reiki courses I teach, and the articles and books both I and Dawn are writing, we are helping people to change their lives, in a beautiful and loving way.
My first book, 'The Essence of Reiki' , written with my partner Dawn Mellowship , is being published by O-books and comes out at the end of May 2008. I am working on my second book at the moment, a complete guide to ethical living, covering everything from climate change to fair trade. The book will give every reader the information to understand the issues affecting our planet and how to make changes as individuals to collectively change our future.
I run and teach professional Reiki courses in central London with my partner, Dawn. We teach Reiki in the traditional Usui Reiki Ryoho and Takata forms. Our Reiki work has been featured in a number of UK magazines, such as TNT, Health and Fitness, Natural Health... and others. For more information about Reiki go to www.thehealingco.com
I am available to write for your publication or website, either on a regular basis or a one-off or ad-hoc basis. For more information go to www.andychrysostomou.com
