EL Sabor De Mexico (ESMEX) is a community folkloric group from Lompoc, California. ESMEX is composed of teens 13 & up. Started in 1994 it was originally named Club Pachuco after the popular music group “Banda Pachuco†the named was later changed to EL Sabor de Mexico as members became more diverse.
With so many negative influences in society today, drugs, alcohol, gangs, & teen pregnancy ESMEX offers student a positive way of expressing themselves through dance. Except for the purchase of shoes and an occasional workshop fee instruction is offered free of charge. For the past several years we have had the opportunity to work with RaÃces de Mi Tierra for which we are thankful for their willingness to share their knowledge and time. Thank You RAICES
