Formed in late 2005, Turnpike South remains distinctly different from the various local bands in Jersey. Fueled by heavy yet progressive guitar work, and coupled with pounding bass and aggressive drumming, Tpk.S has made their mark on the otherwise cliche music scene.Above all else, the band seeks to send a message through each of their songs; to provoke thought and especially emotion. Their frontman's unqiue soft-to-loud vocal stylings provide a platform for the band's lyrical subject matter: from a darkened sense of self-introspection, to the political; from statements on society, to past relationships and to the very experience that is New Jersey.
