Have been an Actress and a journalist since I first learned to read at four. I love to read and I love to write and right now, my style is journalism....mainly I wrote articles (that were given me) about teen and tween Angst - would be a happier way to put it...(guess they thought I would understand since I was a college senior at 19 and an actress) but that ended 2 years ago when I admitted I needed to help people in the moment and acting had always been more important - though I was getting those intense roles while writing those intense articles. In theatre - I studied at American Stanislavski Theatre and Michael Howard Studios and Michael Checkov Studios and have acted in a Shakespeare Series where we did all his plays in 3 years...I would love to do that again. Have performed all of his plays thrice-over in readings all over NY. Did the brief summer stints at Weber-Douglass and took some RADA intensives here. I love to travel so I can understand one more culture or ritual or theatre piece. I enjoy and respect life especially when I can steer my own path - yet - always it seems. In acting - all unions - and have been since I was a tween... LOVE IT. I studied Theatre, Journalism and Poly Sci in undergrad and am about to double in Journalism and Religion in grad school. Remember chaining myself to missle silos and writing letters to senators from the time I was 12 - when not expressing my opinion I am fast asleep. Come from a huge -24 people- 484 nationwide and more in Ireland, Germany, St.Louis - Irish Catholic family . I have been a big fan of the Nation and Heifer.Org since I came to NY in 1990. Have taken classes at the NY Open Center and Theosophical Society when not onstage. I have some irons in the fire - four plays and two films so - am going to do the 5 or more year degree with graduate school - as long as I have a doctorate or two by the time I turn 44 I will be fine. Yes, I could have done this long ago but why not do the life thing in between which is much more fun and simple. When I need a challenge - I take a class.I have been so blessed working in the theatre and film for close to 20 years Loooove going to see theatre and am pretty eclectic in all of my tastes.Consider my religion to be Catholew and AngliWicca. I have been invited to Ashrams and Id services as well which I find cleansing and unique. Seem to learn from everything.
What I have lived by is - if I am not willing to ask a question (or many) and get to know a situation than I really don't want to know so I actually let it be. Acting and journalism can definitely go hand in hand. (Really don't have a story about how hard life or acting is because I am honost enough to get every issue out in the moment and then have fun researching every morsel of it until it turns to dust or admitting it is just a sad thing not a hard thing.)And I personally have experienced hard things that were fun.....
