CHICAGO ROCKS 2007!!!!!!Its difficult to really peg Chicago's Hip Hop sound. Its is most noted recently for its soulful approach spearheaded by Kanye West. Prior to that the Twista style was what Chicago was famous for. The Chicago Underground is a mix of true school advocates and avant garde artists. All of these sounds are part of the eclectic mix that defines the city, past its segregated neighborhoods, past its Northside, Southside, and Westside split. The South has been known for its "fresh" approach, the Polo kids who grew up bboying and following the traditional hip hop aesthetics, as well as the street gangsters and hustlers that comprise the region. The West side is also known for the hustlers, and gangbangers, as well as the true ghetto of the city, the Do Or Dies, Crucial Conflicts, and Twistas hail from the West and have given it its signature approach and sound. The Northside is known most for its backpackers and hoodie-and-timbs crowd. There hasn't been an artist to really represent them...an artist who has experience their life and struggle and been able to successfully translate that on record.....until now.Assembling a group of the Windy City's rawest young emcees, Chicago's very own Prime, known for his appearances on HBO's Blaze Battle, MTV's DFX, Scribble Jam, and a Fat Beats release through Molemen Inc., creates a showcase of his city's newest talents, Middle Ground. "From the Ground Up" is the debut from the group and also the label's first release. Bringing the true school aesthetics of hip hop with hard gritty street production, "From the Ground Up" provides another perspective on Hip Hop's newest spawning ground, the streets of Chicago. Having gained notoriety through an impressive battle career, Prime hustled his way to MTV's DFX battle and HBO's Blaze Battle Championship, at the same time putting out 2 underground releases featuring well known artists such as C Rayz Walz, Rise, Mass Hysteria, Qwel, Robust, Mountain Bros., and other successful independent artists. After garnering a considerable buzz in the indie scene, Prime appeared on two other Molemen Inc. releases, "The Ritual...", and "Chicago City Limits Vol.1". He then released a single, "Madman b/w Lambslaughter" featuring underground favorite Slug of the group Atmosphere through Molemen/Fat Beats Records. Now continuing to build on his notoriety, Prime begins his label with From the Ground Up. Featuring no less than 8 hot new artists from Chicago, a cameo by freestyle/battle rapper extraoridinaire MC JUICE, and banging production by Mixx Massacre, Madd Crates (who has done production for Daily Plannet and All Natural), and newcomers Lito, D.C., and Revolt, From the Ground Up is a refreshing trip through the streets of Chicago, showing the darker side of the city. Take a walk through the mean streets of Chicago and take part in the beginning of a movement. Check out Middle Ground From the Ground Up! BRAND NEW PRIME CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
