About Me

Welcome to DBTAC NW (Disability Business Technical Assistance Center.)
We are funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). Disability Business Technical Assistance Centers (DBTAC's) are a national platform of ten centers comprised of ADA professionals and experts charged with assisting businesses, state and local governments, and people with disabilities as they manage the process of changing our culture to be user friendly to disability and the effect the variety of health conditions can have on society. As the Region X Center, we have aggressively staffed our project with professionals familiar with disability, rehabilitation, rehab engineering, special education, the built environment, accessibility to buildings and electronic accessibility, civil rights law, and business professionals. Our regional advisory committee and our state affiliates are made up the premier leaders in ADA compliance in each of the states we serve. ..********************************************** * *

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The four Affiliates Working Together to Provide ADA Information to Region X: Washington, Oregon, Idaho and AlaskaThe regional office of the DBTAC Northwest is located in Mountlake Terrace, Washington and is affiliated with the University of Washington. The regional staff is responsible for coordinating activities not only throughout Washington State but also with our partners in Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. Each state has an affiliate office so that ADA training and technical assistance can be specific to the needs of that state. These affiliates were selected as partners because of their expertise in ADA interpretation and recommended practices.
