............................................................ ................................................. Story-singing songwriter Carson Metzger writes songs about his interests: regretful mapmakers, the misunderstood joys of artificial insemination, soldiers dying in the arms of lovers. In a market saturated by random lyrics and the same old love songs, Metzger crafts intelligent stories of characters struggling with love, faith, violence, and happiness. Where he takes lyrical cues from Graceland-era Paul Simon and Randy Newman, his songs owe equally as much to the edgy sentiment and dramatic theatrics of Pink Floyd's Roger Waters. He has been observed seeking lyrical influence in nursery rhymes, funeral homes, embarrassed assholes, and the lilting of an intimate’s cheekbones.A finalist in the 2008 Albuquerque Songwriter's Contest, Metzger's music and live performances have been characterized by fans as "dynamic." As a solo acoustic-electric performer, his animated delivery includes his signature facial expressions and inspired guitar playing. Veering from quiet whispers into frenzied screams, Metzger varies his low growling with a vulnerable falsetto. He tailors the volume and intensity of his acoustic guitar playing to suit the crescendo of the stories he tells. He can fill a large room or play quiet songs in small spaces...................................................... ........................................................Metz ger purposefully stylizes his vocal delivery: he rounds off the ends of words to accent rhymes while stretching vowels to underscore rhythm. He provides free lyric books at his performances to allow audiences the option of reading along as he sings from a body of thirty-five original songs. His second album, Carson Metzger presents: A Nova Anatomia or The Small Problem of Gods and Bodies, is available at http://cdbaby.com/cd/carsonmetzger.His music is currently being played on NMRadio..................................................... .........................................................Wit nesses claim to have heard Metzger's voice on a series of prior recordings under the singer-songwriter pseudonym Lex is Morphing (myspace.com/lexismorphing.com).
