About Me

The music is being generated.
Welcome to the Generator Myspace, you can find the new mp3 player with 13 tracks for your listening pleasure down below on the left hand side of this page.
Pretty much all of them are available for free download at the
Generator Homepage.
Thanks, and greetings from
Paul
This site is to showcase all new demos being produced by Generator. All tracks are subject to change, what you hear today might be gone tomorrow, or changed.
This page will be a launch pad, a broadcast station where I put down my ideas, some or none of which will see the light of the next day. Rather than this being a seller of a finished product, think of this location as a glimpse into the mind of someone who makes music. Some tracks here will be polished, clean, and will have days of work behind them. Others will be layered loops and soundscapes put down in an hour. I will try to keep them as fresh and as close to what is actually happening in the studio as possible. If you would like any of the tracks temporarily hosted here, get in touch, I'll see what I can do.
Do not expect constants. Things will change. New tracks will not always sound devolved from those previously presented. I have no wish to present a dozen different projects to suit every moodswing. There will be only one project, and that is Generator. I will not remain in a mould.
We all evolve, and so does music.
Here are a selection of banners, if you'd like to help gather momentum, get Generator out there, then take one and put it on your site / webpage, thanks.

Influences: Lets go back in time... As a small child I grew up listening to everything from the Beatles to Pink Floyd, my family’s house was usually full of music. As I began to decide what I liked and what I didn’t, I was listening to the British Music Foundation, and then of course what they became (Clock DVA, Heaven 17, and The Human League). Kraftwerk really brought in the computer aspect, and bands like Cabaret Voltaire made me start to do it myself. Yes, I could be found cutting up cassette tapes to make beat loops, and thanks to a good friend of mine who shares my name, I was taping shortwave radio, sampling (with a tape recorder) weird documentaries, and similar. Test Department, and then Einstuerzende Neubauten had me hitting bits of metal, and the second hand electric guitar my father had bought me (yes I had an electric guitar. Yes, I hit it with bits of metal and I’m proud of it). Cabaret Voltaire led me to Hula, and then Front 242. It was 1985, and official version was one of the craziest things I’d ever heard. The KLF kicked off Acid House (what time is Love indeed...) and I loved it, whatever time it was... DAF came next, and then of course, Nitzer Ebb. I saw them in ’88 at the London School of Economics and was blown away. Then came another groundbreaking moment: Skinny Puppy, and then Nine Inch Nails. The music was growing fast, but I was still mucking about with analogue synths and an Atari.
What other groups can I mention? The Swans, the wonderful, and bastard, Aphex Twin, Ministry (RevCo forever), Klinik, Dive, Satie, ABC, Borghesia, Click Click, Michael Nyman, Apollo 440, Frontline Assembly (and their bastard offspring), Coil, Throbbing Gristle, Chris and Cosey, Underworld, Current 93, Nurse With Wound, the list goes on.
I devour music. My MP3 player (death to iPods) contains everything from opera to gabber, Traditional Japanese folk music to motown. If you don’t vary, you don’t know.
