Vadim Shmelev

DJ/producer project Vadim Shmellev was based in Novosibirsk in the year 2000. In the early childhood Vadim showed special interest in music. His first meeting with electronic music took place when he was 10 years old, after first time listening to Space electro on vinyl in his parents’ bedroom. He took up music since the very childhood. As he had a lot of free time, he spent it on music using the most primitive programs to create music.

One of those programs was Fast Tracker. In this Program Vadim learnt basics of creating the music, using samples and effects. His first tune, made in Fast Tracker, was “Raise Y Power” in 1999. At that time Vadim’s brother Michael, who was the one of the best dj’s in Novosibirsk offers him to combine efforts for making club tunes. The result of concerted actions is their tune “Sunshine”, which got to rotation on the local radio station “Juniton”.

Simultaneously to making the music, Vadim works in another important way – DJing. In 2000 was based hip-hop project Baga Beat. During the time of its existing appeared such teams as NTL, Stafford, and FTD. This project took an active part in developing the hip-hop culture in the capital of Siberia, collaborating with many teams and clans from other cities. At that time Vadim was taking part in a series of hip-hop parties in Novosibirsk, and was making remixes on NTL and Baga Beat.

In 2002 Vadim’s remix on “Sveta – What shall I do” got in the top 3 remixes on this song and was supported by PPK. In the end of 2003 the Baga Beat project is collapsing and Vadim utterly and completely does his producer work in trance music. Before 2004 Vadim was engaged in producing mix compilations “Lost in emotions” where were introduced the world’s best trance producers. In the period of 2005-2007 Vadim took a break in his creation work and in the beginning of 2007 actively got back to producing new tunes. One of them – “Air” appeared in the radioshow “Trance Around the World”. Another tune “Moonwalk” interested the record company iRecords, and DJ Feel. On December 12, 2007 was released “Buy Me The Boots” on Sundesire records.
