VJ Fest Istanbul
"AUDIO VISUAL PLAYGROUND"VJ FEST ISTANBUL is an international video-music festival. It’s goal is to create an audio-visual playground where people can converse and have good time. VJ Fest Istanbul is primarily a gathering for the VJs from different parts of the world. It has a similar spirit to the VJ Camp in Greece and to LPM in Rome (for these organizations, see www.myspace.com/vjcampcrete and www.liveperformersmeeting.net.) In VJ Fest Istanbul, as in other similar gatherings, VJs from different parts of the world come together and share their knowledge about their art and techniques. They give talks and make workshops for the interested people. People learn about Vjing, and VJs improve their techniques with the help of other VJs. They make VJ - DJ electronic music dance parties and audio-visual performances at theathers.
The second VJ Fest Istanbul will be between 4-7th June 2009 at Ghetto and on 8th at French Culture Institute Theater. There are free workshops, audio visual performances and VJ-DJ parties for four days. Festival is a demonstration of the art of VJing as a social act. It is an opportunity for the interested people to learn about this communicative art. VJs from Turkey meet VJs from other countries. They share their knowledge about the subject, and help each other to improve their techniques. The workshops at Ghetto will be everyday between 17-20 p.m. free and open to everyone. VJ Fest Istanbul
"GÖRSEL VE SESSEL OYUN ALANI"VJ FEST ISTANBUL uluslararası bir video-müzik festivalidir. Video Jokey (VJ), canlı olarak videoları üst üste bindirip karıştıran, DJ'in müziğiyle aynı anda uyumlu bir video kolajı yapan kişiye denir. VJ Fest İstanbul, sözü geçen video sanatını İstanbullulara tanıtarak, bu sanatın farklı yönlerini tartışmak amacıyla düzenlenmektedir; amacı, İstanbul'un eğlence hayatının VJ etkinlikleriyle daha da renkli bir biçime dönüşmesidir.
VJ Fest İstanbul çok sayıda VJ’in ve DJ’in buluşmasıdır. Festivalde bu yıl farklı ülkelerden toplam kırk sekiz VJ ve DJ bir araya gelecektir. Gündüzleri VJ’lerin video teknikleri üzerine bilgilerini paylaştıkları atölye çalışmalarına yer verilecektir. Geceleri VJ - DJ performanslarıyla renklenen müzikli eğlencelerde, VJ’ler tekniklerini DJ’lerin müziği eşliğinde sergileyeceklerdir. Gündüz atölyeleri ve gecelerde müzikli eğlenceler, ilgilenen herkes için Video Jokeyliğin ne olduğu ve nasıl yapıldığını bizzat görmeleri için bir fırsat olacaktır.
İkinci VJ Fest İstanbul 4-7 Haziran 2009 tarihleri arasında Ghetto’da ve 8 Haziran’da Beyoğlu Fransız Kültür Merkezi’nde gerçekleşecektir. Festival, ilgilenen herkesin ücretsiz katılabileceği atölye çalışmaları, Audio-Video performanslar ve ücretli VJ-DJ partileriyle beş gün sürecektir. Festival, konuyla ilgilenen kişilerin bir iletişim sanatı olarak VJ’lik hakkında yeni bilgiler öğrenebilecekleri bir ortam olacaktır. Türkiye’deki VJ’ler, yabancı VJ’lerle tanışacak ve birbirleriyle bilgilerini paylaşarak teknik becerilerini geliştirebileceklerdir. Atölye çalışmaları hergün saat 17.00 ile 20.00 arasında Ghetto’da yapılacaktır. Festival, Pazartesi günü Fransız Kültür Merkezi’ndeki iki gösteriyle son bulacaktır. Bu gösterilerden birincisi video ve sesin anolog olarak birbirine dönüştürüldüğü bir canlı sinema örneği sunulacaktır. İkinci gösterideyse Albert Camus’nün Yabancı adlı Nobel ödüllü kitabını konu alan video, müzik ve metinlerden oluşacaktır.
