Shortly after my birth, we moved to Lumberton, TX and have enjoyed living there every since. Besides having two loving and wonderful parents, I also have a beautiful and awesome sister who is almost 6 years older than me. Her name is Kara Patrice. When I was about 4 years old, my grandmother, Mammaw, gave me my very first guitar. It was a LIttle mark 2 with a built in amplifier. I really did not show much intrest in it back then, except for all the noise I could make with it. Most of the time it was just an ornament that hung on the wall in my bedroom. About 3 1/2 years later, I got my 2nd guitar for Christmas. This was a First Act Electric Guitar and I really loved messing with it. The only problem was that none of my friends wanted to hear me play because they said I sounded horrible. We attend a church in Beaumont, and the youth group there is really cool. Two brothers in the group, Matthew and James Fracht, always did an awesome job of leading worship, singing, and playing guitars. My sister, Kara, and James Fracht got to be "sweethearts". One night the church put on a "Hee Haw" play, and Matt and James sang and played "Sweet Home Alabama". I really loved that song, so I checked it out on our computer, and this is when I really became intrested in Lynyrd Skynyrd & Southern Rock music. James would come out to our house with his guitar and we'd all sit around and have a great time while he would pick and sing. He started teaching me some of the chords and that made me want to learn a whole lot more. I asked my parents if I could take some guitar lessons, and they thought it was a good idea. So I started taking lessons, at the age of 7, from Keith Dunbar at the Guitar Lessons Studio in Lumberton, TX. On my 8th birthday my parents gave me a Baby Taylor acustic guitar. Since I was getting to perform so much, my parents decided that I needed a nicer guitar, so I got a 312Ce-L7 Taylor Guitar.I also play the piano/keyboard, xylephone, mandolin, drums, and bass guitar. My favorite instrument is the guitar. After about a year I started taking lessons from Kenny Sanders. He performed in a few bands back in the day, and I really look up to him. He makes me want to learn more and do better each lesson. He is also our Band Coach. The band members are on Bass, my best friend, Gage Hernandez 10yrs old. He has been playing the Bass since February 2008. Gage is an awesome musician. He works very hard at learning all about the Bass. On the Drums, 14rys old Alex White frome Orange, Tx. Alex is an amazing Guitarist as well as a great Drummer. He is what holds a band together, great instinct and a natural at music all together.Since Feb 2008 we had a lot of chances to perform with some different artists around town. Jimmy & David Lee Kaiser, who have great bands, let our Band open up for them. Some of the places I have played are: South Texas state fair, Port neches Riverfest, Mauriceville Crawfish festeville, Village Creek festival, Hardin County Music Festival Tiki Hut Bar & Grill, Crazy Jose's, Madison's Restraunt and the Logon Cafe in Beaumont. I like different styles of music, but I've just got to say that Southern Rock, Rock & Texas Country, Classic Rock are my favorite styles of music. Lynyrd Skynyrd is my favorite band. People tell me they don't understand how I can play as well as I do at my age. Well, I think it's a gift from God, and I'm very thankful for this blessing. I appreciate all the support and encouragement I get from my family and friends and hope to go a long way with my music.So. My life will go on from here.............................Gage Hernandez (Bass) & Vocals My name is Gage Hernandez and I was born April 1st, 1998. I have lived in Lumberton, TX all of my life. My parents are Reagan and Kimberly Hernandez and they, along with my sister Addison, are my biggest fans. I have many interests, not the least of which is thumping some cool tunes on my bass guitar. I started playing the bass guitar about six months ago (Feb 08). The best way to describe how I feel when I am jamming in front of over 100 screaming fans with my band mates in the Bryce Shaver Band is “TOTALLY AWESOME”. As I said, I started playing the bass guitar earlier this year, but I actually started taking electric guitar lessons two years ago, when I was eight, from the Guitar Lesson Studio in Lumberton, TX. I took lessons for about 3 months and then I had to stop because I started football practice. Even though I stopped taking guitar lessons, I still had a passion for music. This passion began developing at a young age. Fortunately, my parents exposed me to all styles of music from Christian to country to rock and roll. My first favorite song was “Kryptonite” by 3 Doors Down. When I was three I used to put on a Superman costume and jump up and down on my bed while singing the lyrics. Right now, my favorite bands are Bon Jovi, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Guns n Roses. Music has always been a part of my life, and I guess entertaining has too. Some of my other interests include acting, modeling and playing sports. I’ve acted in school plays, and I’ve been in a couple of commercials as well as some print ads and numerous modeling shows. I also enjoy playing baseball, football, soccer and video games. I guess you could say that I enjoy doing the same things most 10 year old boys do. But, music has always been a passion of mine, which brings me back to the here and now. I started taking bass guitar lessons from Mr. Kenny Sanders of Beaumont, TX in February of this year (08). Mr. Kenny has taught me how to play many different chords, scales and bass rifts for a lot of different styles of music. I really enjoy playing southern rock, blues and rock and roll, but I have learned to appreciate all types of music. I am very thankful for Mr. Kenny for being patient with me and teaching me so much about being a bass player. I also sing back up vocals and some lead in the Bryce Shaver Band. This has been an awesome experience for me and I really love making music with Mr. Kenny (rhythm guitar), Alex White (incredible drummer) of Orange, TX and my best friend Bryce (lead vocals and guitarist extraordinaire). Finally, I am very thankful for my family supporting me in my interests. This includes my mom and dad, my little sister, my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. My parents have always been a very positive influence in my life and have taught me to worship and thank God for all of my blessings. They keep me focused on the things that are really important in life and I know they will always be there for me, wherever this road may lead.Alex White of Orange, Texas is a 14 year old exceptional drummer and guitar player. His parents are Lee Roy White of Orange, Texas and Terry Edgerton of Lumberton, Texas. Alex got his first Guitar when he was 10 yrs old. It was a First Act. He loved playing it all the time and he learned a lot about playing the guitar for the next year. He began taking private lessons from Mary Bingham in Bridge City, Texas. He took lessons for from her for about 1 year. Alex progressed at a rapid pace and it was recommended that he get a more advanced guitar teacher. Mrs. Bingham recommended the best guitar teacher in this area, Mr. Kenney Sanders, from Beaumont, Texas, for Alex’s Teacher. Alex has excelled at the guitar with a great passion for learning lead, rhythm & all styles of play. Alex also wanted to learn drums so he got an electronic drum set when he was 11 years old. He started playing percussion in the Middle School Band in 2005. After learning more about the drums, he started playing at his Church. He got his first full set of drums in January, 2006 and has been playing ever since. In February 2008 Kenney Sanders new that Alex was playing the drums in his Church band and asked Alex if he would be interested in playing the drums with the “Bryce Shaver Band”. Alex agreed and came to a practice. He was a natural and blended with the band from the first song he played.Bio on the Teacher of Bryce, Gage & Alex. Mr Kenney Sanders. Kenney is a Phenominal guitarist and all around musician. He is a great teacher as well as our band coach!Kenny Sanders has been playing guitar since he was twelve years old. He also played clarinet and bassoon in junior high school in Beaumont, TX. He helped form bands like White Hart, and Akela, before he was 16 years old. He moved to Houston and played with Maddaxe for a year, and then formed his own band Tundra. In 1986 Kenny won The Fender/Eric Clapton Scholarship Contest to The Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood Ca. He was quickly seen by the L.A.-based band Fanz, who was produced by Ronnie James Dio and Niji Management. Kenny had been in Hollywood for less than four months, and his first show was opening up for the band Great White, at a sold-out show at The Palace Theater. After a year with Fanz, Kenny joined Lydia Van Huston, and toured with Robin Trower and Blue Oyster Cult. While in Lydia’s group, Kenny began working on his own instrumental material. In 1993, Kenny moved back to Beaumont to pursue his teaching and consider recording a CD. After working with Marlin Productions on a pilot for a sit-com entitled "Best of Show", Kenny returned to Hollywood and worked with Jimmy Hunter, owner of Cazador Studios. Kenny was an assisant recording engineer for Della Reese’s, Understanding Principles for Better Living, and also played guitar for one of Jimmy Hunter’s clients, Jeffrey Michaels. Kenny is now back in Beaumont, teaching and writing, and recording new material. While back in Texas, Kenny played with Honey Island. That was when he got into the Roland GR-20 Guitar Synthesizer. He further developed his synth style playing with Laurel and The Untouchables, where he played a very wide range of musical styles, including some big band classics. Kenny has been working on various songs and ideas over the past couple of years, but began recording on a Tascam 8-track hard disc recorder one of his students bought. He ended up getting one, and recorded the CD, "Morning Takes". " Most of this was recorded in the two weeks between the NFC Championship Game and The Super Bowl. It’s all me and the Roland. I’m getting ready to do this stuff live, and I am also working on the next one"! Kenny plans to have his next CD, "Tuxedo Gig", recorded and out before this Christmas. " Summer is coming, so look for some local gigs, as well as touring with Blackbead himself "! Kenny plans to bring instructional videos to his myspace page, as well as video of students and some of his own home recording tips.
