The Mark Pires Band was created on December 8th, 2007. Barber Productions Inc. held auditions for Singer Songwriter Mark Pires in Stamford CT, in early December to create Mark's new band. Being very particular is the only way it will be with Marks new band.The Mark Pires Band will bring CT bassist Joe Sanchez and NYC Drummer Lance Comer together with the talents of Mark Pires.Mark Pires is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Connecticut with over eighty original songs to his credit. He has gained acclaim through his original style, and contagious energy. Mark has several accolades under his belt. Songs featured on Fox’s “The Simple Life” and MTV's “Road Rules.” This year Mark's song "Different" was featured on Episode 26 of “The Real World Denver” and just a few weeks back "Something to Live For," the title track off Mark's new album was featured on Episode 17 of “The Real World Sydney.” Mark's song "I'm Gone" was chosen by VH1 as a finalist for Song of the Year. A new full album, Mark Pires "Something to Live For" has just been released and his two disc acoustic album is in post-production. Joe has been a part of many bands ranging from Rock, Pop, Afro-Cuban and Contemporary jazz. In 1990 Joe began to study privately with Jerry Tyler a former student of Jaco Pastorious & Linc Chamberland. Further study continued with Lincoln Goines, John Patitucci and master classes with the one and only Victor Wooten. Joe Studied extensively as a private student of Matthew Garrison. Joe has been a freelance musician for 20 years playing the regional club circuits, private events, session work and teaching privatelyLance Comer, a drummer originally from Minneapolis. Founding member of The New Congress, a great band that won Neo-Soul Group of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2006 LA Music Awards. Also won 2006 R&B Group of the Year and Best R&B Album at the Minnesota Music Awards. Spent 7 years with the International Reggae All Stars, a reggae/ dancehall group (opened for Jimmy Cliff, Damian Marley, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, etc). Member of Minneapolis horn bands Down Right Tight and Power of 10 (opened for Blood, Sweat, and Tears and Average White Band). Played for The Drifters and The Coasters, and was a member of the backing band for Chuck Berry. Recently worked in New York with Kacie Sheik, Fusion, and Danielle Antonio. 2007 US tour with MC Frontalot (opened for Modest Mouse, Blonde Redhead). MTV's Real World Hollywood will be featuring Mark's song "Let's Start Slow" off his new album during their May 21st episode at 10p.m. Mark's music has been placed 4 times this year on MTV's Real World...
