Chris DeRosa is a Freelance Drummer/Composer/Producer who currently lives in New York City, although his experience has taken him to many parts of the world (over 44 countries).
As a Rock/Pop musician with very strong Jazz and Improvisational sensibilities Chris also loves playing Ethnic and World music. He considers Reggae, Samba, Bossa, and Soca among his favorites and his playing can be described in three words, Strong/Creative/Grooving.
Chris' travels have had a great impact on how he sees and hears music. Although his roots are in American oriented rhythms his education and life experience has had a profound influence on what he can bring to a band or song. A well-versed Seasoned Studio & Live Drummer Chris has studied at The Berklee College of Music where he received the prestigious Buddy Rich Jazz Masters Scholarship and at The University Of Miami where he was the recipient of the Bowman Ashe Scholarship for artistic and academic achievement. There Chris also received his Studio Music/Jazz Performance degree.

Chris Has Lectured at Marymount Manhattan College (Adjunct Professor), The NYACK School Of Music (Guest Lecturer), and at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (Staff Musician, Guest Lecturer), and continues to Freelance with some very talented artists.
As a creative drummer Chris has been featured in both Modern Drummer and DRUM! Magazines. Chris plays all styles of music (ie. Gospel, Rock, Jazz, Latin, Afro-Cuban, Pop, Brazilian, Samba, Bossa Nova, Funk, Hip Hop, R&B, Blues, Reggae, Dance Hall, One Drop, Rock Steady, Ska, Mento, Soca and Solo Drumming Among Others) and has released many offerings as both a leader and a sideman. Chris has performed on WXPN’s (Philadelphia) “World Cafeâ€, WDST’s (Woodstock) “Sessionsâ€, has toured the Middle East for the Armed Forces in support of our troops, and toured China as part of a Jazz Cultural Exchange.
