BORDER SHOWDOWN

Below is a description of each round, the scoring, rules and prizes for the 2009 Club Wars Border Showdown.

Rounds

QUALIFIER: This is the first show bands will play in the Border Showdown. The band that advances to the Semi-Final Round will be determined by a 50-50 Judge to Fan Vote ratio.

SEMI-FINAL: The band that advances from the Semi-Final will be determined by a 75-25 Judge to Fan Vote ratio.

CHAMPIONSHIP: The winner of the Club Wars Championship will be chosen by Judges Votes. top

Rules

FAN VOTING: When fans vote, the rule will be one ballot per person. Band members will not be eligible to vote. The band that receives the most fan votes will get 10 points. The band that receives the 2nd most fan votes will receive 8 points. The band with the 3rd most fan votes gets 6 points. Bands that finish 4th or lower in the fan votes will get 4 points.

JUDGES VOTING: Judges will rank the bands as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th. Bands will be awarded 10 points for each 1st place ranking. 8 points for each 2nd place ranking. 6 points for each 3rd place ranking. 4 points for each 4th place or lower ranking. The average score of the Judges votemay be applied to determine winner of Qualifier and Semi-Final Rounds.

TIE BREAKER: In the event of a tie in the Qualifier Round. Bands tying with the highest score will advance. In the event of a tie in the Semi-Final Round. The tie breaker will be Fan Vote. If that does not break the tie. Bands tying with the highest score will advance. In the event of a tie in the Championship Round. Judges will re-vote until tie is broken.

SET LENGTH: Bands will play 20 minute sets at all Club Wars dates.

1st place grand prize will be $2,000, a gift certificate to Guitar Source in Overland Park, KS and 10 hours at Chapman Recording. Automatic seeding in the Final of the Club Wars Battle For Freaker's Ball. 2nd Place Finalist will receive $1,000 and 5 hours at Chapman Recording. 3rd Place Finalist will receive $500 and 5 hours at Chapman Recording. 4th Place Finalist will receive $300 and 5 hours at Chapman Recording. Remaining Finalists will receive $200. Bands that advance from Semi-Final and Qualifier dates will receive $50.

MORE PRIZES MAY BE ANNOUNCEDEntering

ELIGIBILITY: For bands to be eligible they must have at least 2 members and be based in Kansas or Missouri.
