About Me

School's out for summer!! But...I'm busier than ever. Here's what's on my To Do List -- teach Research Methods to undergrads, get out a manuscript, read for my prelim, and oh yeah, plan and have a wedding in August. No problem!! I'd also like to fit in a few races. Next big one -- The Boilermaker in July!

In my spare time, I nanny for a three year old who is absolutely amazing and probably the smartest kid I've ever met. She's adorable, but is a lot of work, especially as she's getting older and more independent (read: bossy). I also just found out that there's a new baby on the way! That should be fun...

As for me, well...I'm a pretty quiet kid, but will definitely open up after I find my comfort zone. Just give me some time. I love to laugh which probably explains my choice in a partner...she freakin' cracks me up every time she opens her mouth! I'd like to be more of a political activist than I am, but let's face it, sometimes I'm just lazy. More about me...I'm easygoing, introspective, thoughtful, and as I've been told lately -- argumentative. I can't help that I'm always right...if you'd just agree with me I wouldn't have to argue so much!

My Interests

Here's what I like to do: going to concerts, npr, settlers of catan, phillies' games, wicked the musical, reading, playing cards especially euchre, psychology, working out (running!!), hiking, really anything outdoors, hanging out with friends, eating yummy food, my kitties - emma and ashley!!, traveling & exploring new places, feminism, political activism (usually amounting to signing petitions), and wearing capris!! I love 'em!

Here's what I actually do: read psych. articles, analyze data, collect data, write papers, basically anything related to psychology. it's fun, but not a life.

I'd like to meet:

Outgoing people, lesbians, and open-minded folks are at the top of my list. Really, I'm just looking for some people in Philly who are cool and down-to-earth and can have a good time doing just about anything. I'm not too into the whole bar scene and prefer just hanging out getting to know people.

water, brokeback mountain, wet hot american summer, rent, a bug's life, mulan, shawshank redemption, render, little women, fahrenheit 9/11, bowling for columbine, ocean's eleven, shakespeare in love, but i'm a cheerleader, a perfect murder, about a boy, the others, garden state, fried green tomatoes, high fidelity, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, almost famous, lost and delirious, notting hill, pretty woman, gia, wedding crashers, 40 year old virgin.

Television:

L Word, Grey's Anatomy, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Arrested Development, Colbert Report, Daily Show, Big Love, South of Nowhere, Little People Big World, anything on DHC or TLC, I've also recently become obsessed with Work Out on Bravo.

Books:

Currently reading: son of a witch by Gregory Maguire

finding fish is by far my favorite book ever...i must warn you though it is also extremely sad, i also like: stone butch blues, harry potter books, davinci code, wicked, tipping the velvet, she's not there, and the time traveler's wife.
