Plastic Think

What’s in the plastic bag? Purpose is to make music full of naïve, emotional and atmospheric sounds. A mixture of different influences. We work mainly at home, on computers. We use different technological possibilities to make sounds and noises: Real instruments, samples, drum machines, groove box... There are no rules, no boundaries. We try to come up with something different, or test something new for each song. Whether it is in the studio or on stage, our computer becomes the fourth Plastic Think member. But our band line up is not limited to 3 basic musicians and a computer. Depending on live technical possibilities and the band’s desire to be supplemented by a drummer or a keyboard player, Plastic Think can grow....Work started as a follow-up to a “By Pass” mini tour in 2004, in which Sandra Arslanian and Fred van der Zwaan took part. It gave them the opportunity and time to jam and write new material. A few weeks later Yvan joined them. They decided to mix their different feelings & horizons. And that’s how Plastic Think saw the light. In 2006, Sandra left the band for family reasons and was replaced by Géraldine who had just left her band (Michel Drucker Expérience). It was a fresh new start for the band and everything was reviewed. Plastic Think has now been working for a couple of months and after having stayed apart for a very long time in their home studio, the trio now begins to experiment all that music live...
