Born Andrew Kiffin in Kingston , Jamaica . History Man , left home at an early age to live in Maroon Town , St James - where the lanky Chatswort student latched on to the " Soul Shack Disco" sounds , realizing his affinity for music and honing his skills on the mike , when given a chance . . . Andrew did this for three years , during which time he transfered to Marlon High School and then later moved to Frankfield in Clarendon . There he soon met and teamed up deejaying , with two of the most popular sounds at the time , Destroyer and Zion Roots . The three , continued to work together , for another five years. Then , there was a lull in activity as he concentrated on his spiritual development with the Ethiopian Coptic Rite School of Vision and formed the inspiration of his writings
. . . "The religious experience" , he says , provided the foundation for his future in music , which was to bear fruit in the year 2000. In 1992 History Man recorded his first single , "I cry, why do I cry" , at Killamanjaro Recording Studios. While it got some airplay , it never created much of a professional impact for him . Wanting to establish himself , but not having anyone to help , gave him the push he needed . History Man , used the same channel that so many before him did , He entered the Jamaican "Tastee Talent Show Contest" , in 1996 . Although not initially successful , He kept at it until the year 2000 , where He made it to semi-finalist . He later placed third , in the finals of 2002 . Since then , He has been establishing and steadily building a presence on the scene , performing at several live State shows . He has also done multiple recordings and several singles for various producers . In 2004 , after hurricane Ivan, History Man wrote the song - "When Di Hurricane a Come" and "Positive in Mind, Positive in Spirit" , which is the theme song for the Non-Government Organization - Jamaica Aid Support . One of History Man songs , "Javaa Anthem" , is presently one of the songs on the album "JAVAA JAMIN".
He is now a fixture at the monthly "Javva Vibes" Event . As a regular supporter of Jamaica Aid Support , He performs , at nearly all of their functions , including shows put on by the Ministry of Health all over the island , including Independence Park in Kingston & Mandeville Show to name a few . Presently , He is also working on an album for Jamaica Aid Support along with some singles to be released as educational songs about Aids . " I have always loved history , from my school days , I think history is the blue print outlining , where we is come from and where we , is going..." His projects to date have produced a biography of Haile Selassie , the 43 Presidents of The United States and Kings & Queens Of Africa .
Apart from his personal projects , which have produced videos like "When Di Hurricane a Come" in 2004 and singles like "Nutten Nah Gwaan" in 2005 , Informative History Man works with the Jamaican Aids Council , appearing at the United Nations Aids Project , which was launched in 2004 and features the recent Aids conference in Guyana . His new album for Aids relief support is entitled : " Aids is Real " . In February 2005 , History Man released "Bob Marley Story". Kiffin was , especially grateful for the assistance , He received from Bob's close friends & family members , including Alan Skill Cole and Bob' s childhood friend and music brethen , Bunny Wailer m Himself . He explained that it took six months of research to be able to capture the many details of the life of this international star .
Most of the information came from Timothy White's book "Catch a Fire" and from the liner notes from Bunny Wailers production "the Wailers legacy". Armed with the information , He then knocked himself into lyrical shape and poured over the infectious and seemingly immortal "Taxi Riddem", created by Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare . CD release of " Bob Marley Story " has been received with enthusiasm by members of the Marley Family , whom have all been presented with copies . Kiffin , History Man , was booked & performed at the Bob Marley Museum' s February 6 2006 , Bob Marley Birthday Celebrations . After listening to his song , "Bob Marley Story" , You get a comprehensive look at the late singers life . The songs live up to it's name in every way . Those , who have not yet seen this talented artist in action , can always get their chance at the Maroon Town Kwanza Celebration scheduled each December in St James , Jamaica .
