Haris Halilovic was born in Sarajevo Bosnia â€79. At the age of 13, (1992) Haris moves to Sweden because of war in Bosnia. Already as a ten year old kid he got interested of music. Reason was very simple, he saw Jimi Hendrix playing at Woodstock festival. Haris began playing guitar at age 12.His main influences were Blackmore, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour and Jimi Hendrix of course. This later expanded to more diverse styles such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, John Patrucci, Edward Van Halen Pat Martino, Joe Pass and many others.His musical education began with a great music theory class he took in high school. Until that he was studying guitar-tech on his own. After playing for about 6 years, Haris decided to move to Los Angeles where he was ready for the next challenge in his life. Moving to LA and being student of Musicians Institute(GIT) was the life changing experience for most musicians. Musicians Institute introduced him new world of sounds and possibilities to be a professional guitar player. Playing with the most respected musicians/guitarists like Scott Henderson, Dan Gilbert, Danni Gill, Ross Bolton, Dave Hill, David Oaks, Joe Basu, Tom Kolb and many others gave him a professional education in all music styles. Beside guitar –tech Haris has studied music business, music theory, live stage performance, melodic soloing, film scoring and producer- tech. Haris is no stranger to the concert stage. Played with lots of different bands on Sunset Strip Hollywood including House of Blues and The Roxy in Los Angeles. “I wasn't looking for a record deal. I just wanted to get into a good bandâ€! As a student at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, Haris began his transformation from shredding guitarist to complete musician. He also began expanding his own strain of musical definition, studying the nuances of jazz and incorporating this knowledge into his own style, merging it with Brazilian fusion and funk. He graduated in 2001 and was awarded a scholarship to continue his education. Also at MI Haris won the GIT Masters Guitar Competition. After he finished his education at MI he came back to Sweden and continued to educate himself at the University in Kristianstad. Haris completed teaching program and worked as a music teacher at college. Haris is now living in Sweden Malmö and running a Rock school, studio, company Musik & Vision Sverige(www.musik-vision.se) and cooperates with Swedish TV and all record companies. As a producer for 100Hz music he composed lots of successful radio songs. Guitarist Haris Halilovic is an intuitive musician whose instincts and passions are balanced by his versatility and technical dexterity. . As a songwriter, composer and musician, Haris continues to combine a wide variety of musical ingredients--jazz, funk, rock and oriental music -- into new forms. His intense dedication to his craft is matched by his impeccable musicality. His musical horizons are limitless.
