THE STORY BEHIND THE TUNES: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Glow-in-the-Dark Galaxy: This song was written a few words at a time during drawn-out teacher meetings. It's about escaping from the mundane to a perfect summer that exists only in a memory in which the unpleasant has been erased by time. I envision an attic bedroom with glow-in-the-dark sticker stars put all over the slanted ceilings and drapes that block out any trace of light. The clock mentioned in the tune is digital with a green display.

An Apple For Your Journey: When you finally get everything you've always been told you should have, what happens next? This one was started on a napkin during a few slow hours when I was at work as a waiter at the sushi bar in Laramie, Wyoming. The Koreans that ran the place couldn't pronounce my name, so for the summer I worked there I went by "Korku." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dollar's Worth of Duct Tape: Written as a farewell to my camp friends before I left for the mission field to Barcelona. The undecipherable lyrics are disjointed references to sailing, fire, and warm water, and the unforgettable traditions forged and finished on the shores of Bear Lake. Long live the Smooth and Creamy!

Little Angel: I was commissioned to write a lullaby for my niece Elliona (my little brother's daughter) who was born VERY premature and spent much of her first month in an incubator. The song is actually (loosely) based on a scripture from the New Testament, Luke 16:22, which contains the phrase "...carried by the angels..." Little Angel became the corner stone for an entire lullaby album I recorded for my daughters for the nights I'm away.
