About Me

I am an attorney by day, and a self-taught artist/folk artist/primative -- whatever you want to call me -- by night. I work in ceramic, and my bottles, jugs, and jars can be found in collections across the United States of America. As you can see, I like to push my work to be as outrageous as I possibly can get.
Although I create a variety of ceramic pieces, this myspace page will focus on my face bottles and jugs -- at least for now.
Face jugs are an old American art form. While I work in traditional methods, I continue to push my work into the bizarre and untamed.
What I do is guaranteed to get a reaction. Ambivalence is rejected!
Please feel free to post a comment wherever you feel it is appropriate -- and if you are an artist, I invite you to post photos of your work in the "Comments" section below so that we can all enjoy it.
Also, feel free to check out my page at "artistportfolio": http://facejugmaker.artistportfolio.net/

Beauty -- And Everything Else -- Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

Recently, a friend and fan who purchased a jug reminded me that even if an artist creates a work with a premise in mind, that it is ultimately up to the beholder of the work to draw his or her own con...

The Amazing Robotic Artwork of Richard Muller

Some have opined that folk art is on the demise because America is abandoning its small towns and moving to urban settings. Such fears are hogwash. Even if we paved over America and forced everyone in...

PLAN FOR SUCCESS! (or, how a signature and a camera can protect the artist and the collector)

Like most folk/outsider artists, I began making and selling my work late in life compared to most fine artists who are producing their art immediately out of art school. Most folk artists begin their ...
