About Me
My name in the Rock and Roll world is "2000", I live in Burbank, CA. I go by "two thousand" because that's the value of my real name's initials in Roman numerals (MM). In 1999, I started a band called "S.W.I.G." with friends that I had met at my old job in Hollywood, working for the entertainment industry. Originally featuring "Zeke" on guitar/vocals, "Wolf Dick" on drums/vocals and myself on the bass (with some vocals), we performed as a power trio at local Los Angeles clubs such as The Garage (aka The Whorehouse), The Joint, Jack's Sugar Shack (fka The Brown Derby), and the now closed Riverbottom. Following the departure of our original drummer back in the year 2000, the band went dormant for nearly five years. Finally in January of 2005, I met up with my founding partner "Zeke" at the old Riverbottom in Burbank and with his help recruited the mighty hammer of "Thor" to play drums and "Terry" (affectionately known as "Number 4") to be our premiere front man. Terry performed with us over the next two years at venues like BB King's at Universal Citywalk, The Universal Bar and Grill, the first Nikstock West festival (www.nikstock.com), The Joint, The Cat Club, The Riverbottom, and private parties. Due to personal reasons, Terry left the band in early 2007, but still remains one of our biggest fans and best video documenters. Following Terry's departure, we attempted to restructure as a power trio again, but we soon realized we needed a new lead vocalist. After auditioning several hand picked candidates, our friend Linda Abdin, producer of the Time Warner cable TV show "Rockstar", referred us to Johnny Ferriera, aka "Hawk". On April 1st of 2007 (no foolin'), Johnny auditioned with a flawless performance and hasn't sang a bad note yet! We've gone on to play The Fender Bar and Grill, Nikfest (without Zeke, special thanks go out to Cameron "Hellwood" Wellwood of The Harsh Carpets who learned our set in one week with only three rehearsals), and The Cat Club on the Sunset Strip. Many thanks go out to our friends Linda Abdin and Gary Downe of "Rockstar", Happenin' Harry, Nick Fuoco, Robbyn Garcia, David Rice of Pro Sound and Stage Lighting (www.pssl.com) and especially our friends and fans who make it out to shows regardless of distance. weather, or work schedules, God Bless You All!!!!
