Born on 01.03.1983 in Gdansk, Poland, she began attending music school and studying the piano at the age of 7. Being a prodigious performer of classical and chamber music, she was occupied with these genres and thus discovered the "ii-V7-I" quite late, during the International Jazz Workshops in Chodziez in 2005, where she studied under professor Wojciech Niedziela. This experience has caused irreversible changes, which resulted in following a different path in music studies. Having graduated The Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk in September 2007 she decided to continue her education by studing jazz piano. Currently, Joanna Duda attends the Warsaw Jazz Faculty at Bednarska street. Involved in such project as ANSAMBL (with Jacek Mazurkiewicz - db, Pawel Osicki - dr), AUAUA (Maciej Matysiak - b, Michal Bryndal - dr) , SUPER EXTRA 3jo (Michal Kapczuk - db, Kuba Szydlo - dr), Joanna is performing her own compositions and arrangements; also taking piano parts in different bands as ENSO, WMQ. She cooperates with various line-ups, most notably with Jerzy Mazzoll, Andrzej Przybielski. She has already performed in Warsaw (Akwarium,Tygmont), Gdynia (Cyganeria, Ucho), Sopot (Lalala, Papryka,Sfinks), Slupsk (Artelier), Koszalin (Centrala Artystyczna), Szczecin (Royal Jazz Club), Cracow (Jazz Juniors – Rotunda), Dortmund (Domicil Jazz Club), Bruxelles (Music Village)
She was awarded:
-distinctions in the Jazz – Blues Auditions in Ucho club in Gdynia (2006 and 2008 - Special Prize For Instrumentalist)
-in December 2007 - awarded a Special Distinction For Instrumentalist in the Jazz Juniors Competition in Cracow;
-in June 2008 with Super Extra Trio awarded in the Hope Of Warsaw Competition - Distinction for The Band.
- in November 2008 - awarded ..Key 2 Career..
