I'm HUNG, America's most kickass traveling rock 'n' roll art exhibit and spoken word show. I was CBGB's 32nd Anniversary Art Exhibit from the end of 2005 to the beginning of 2006 and I featured the work of many of the artists who shaped the way the world looks at punk rock. The opening party featured talks by John Holmstrom (PUNK magazine's head honcho and co-founder), Roberta Bayley, Godlis and Leee Black Childers and Asa Brebner (ex-Modern Lovers). Other artists in the show included Cynthia Plaster Caster, Arturo Vega (the Ramones' Artistic Director), Jamie Reid (the Sex Pistols' graphic designer), Jayne County, Lyn Z (of Mindless Self Indulgence), Jad & David Fair (of Half Japanese), Bruce Carleton and John E. Coli Nikolai (also of PUNK Magazine), Phyllis Galembo, Knox (of The Vibrators), Josie Montserrat, Marcia Resnick, Johnny V (of Public Nuisance), Richie Parsons (of Unnatural Axe), Niagara, Jon Langford (of the Mekons and Waco Brothers), the late, great gothic artist Peter Costalas and, last but not least, the late Dee Dee Ramone. The show started out in Cambridge, MA where it featured many of the same artists, but HUNG's original venue, Club Passim, WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO SHOW JIMI HENDRIX'S COCK AS CAST BY CYNTHIA PLASTER CASTER. Not in the regular exhibition anyway. They let us have it in the house at the opening though. HUNG is destined for Providence, RI next and hopefully will eventually be coming to a city near you.
