Writ of Mandamus

About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Marble

Just as George Washington helped shape the actual form that the executive branch would take and chief justice John Marshall shaped the role that the courts would play, the metal world has been summoned by Chicago's Writ of Mandamus to appear for a hearing in brutality.
Fronted by a practicing civil litigator and drawing their name from the issues in the seminal case establishing the judiciary as the final decider of constitutionality, Writ of Mandamus has requested punitive damages from the next metal genre set to explode…Law Metal.
Law Metal has its roots in traditional death metal and draws on thrash; however, the subjects of the lyrics typically incorporate social justice shortcomings inherent in agrarian economies, the interplay of Jeffersonian and Federalist ideology, ruling class membership in mysterious secret organizations circa 1790 and the modern propagation of frivolous litigation. (Oh, and sometimes guns and gory death imagery.)
(Excerpt taken from "Metal Stalker" fanzine published in Fall 1992.)
Although the members of Writ of Mandamus went their separate ways after recording an ambitious double live demo, their influence in the burgeoning Chicago metal scene will carry on in perpetuity.
Stay tuned for details regarding the Writ of Mandamus reunion!!!!
P.S. I will be updating the site with rare artwork and more songs.
