I have been performing a lot around the Los Angeles, and Cambridge, Harvard SQuare area. I guess you could say music, it is my blood. I get itchy when I am not getting on a stage somewhere. I also perform in clubs and luv the challenge, of playing cover songs. Also, like the coffehouses, as the fans listen you your every word.
The bright lights always drew me to the big cities. I also performed at Christophers in Cambridge. Actually, the Bangles and Jewel peformed acoustic shows there, when they were just starting out.
I got my start at local open mics.... Testing out new material that appears on my latest album,"FAIRY TALES". Although it is not a concept album, a lot of the songs are written around a central theme. I love to travel and life on the road ins't easy. Relationships get tested, but in the end true love always survives.
One of my first gigs was opening for Enuff Z Nuff at the Rock Palace. It was awesome. Great response!!!
A lot of my song-writing is like looking through "The Looking Glass". Brutality honest and real. One of my favorite lyrics are"Staring In The Looking Glass", Broken Dreams and Broken Glass, Words We Said We Can't Take Back, and I'm Missing You, Wishing You Were Here With Me".Lately, I find myself traveling a lot on a train, greyhound bus, or plane. I long long train rides, help me to reflect and relax. i performboth on the East and West Coast........Right now I findmyself in the studio recording new ideas and experiences from this past summer......
I also have done some street performing in Harvard SQ. I love the crowds there. You learn your craft really well and really fast, as you learn first hand if the crowds give you a good reception. It makes breaking in your set list so eady and honest connecting with the people.The Cambridge based magazine,"The Noise" compared me,"Lita Ford Meets Jewel".For the past year, you know me as the Rock Journalist. Step inside and take a look at the girl behind the writing. Alhough I have a lot of heavy metal influences, sometimes you just have to sit back and reflect on life and love gone by and put it all to words. A good song is wrapped around beautiful lyrics and great chords changes. If it can stand alone, then you know it is a good song.
