About Me

Police Officers of the Cedar Valley College Police Department are duly sworn peace officers under section 51.203 of the Texas Educational Code. The officers of the department are armed and possess the same authority under the law as municipal officers. Cedar Valley College Police Officers patrol the campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They enforce the law, arrest violators, investigate and deter crime, investigate traffic accidents, and provide a full range of services to the college community.Cedar Valley College Police Officers are available to provide escorts or battery jump requests. All Officers regularly attend TCLEOSE - approved classes and in-service training to receive updates on current regulations and legislative changes. The Cedar Valley College Police Department is charged with the personal safety of students, employees and visitors. The Police Department is staffed by eighteen licensed and certified Texas peace officers. The department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patrol of the campus is performed by foot and automobile.The Cedar Valley College police officers have full arrest and enforcement authority and possess all the powers and privileges and immunities accorded police officers in and by the state of Texas. Sworn personnel are empowered by applicable provisions of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedures, and Texas Education Code, and the rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Trustees of the Dallas County Community College District.The Cedar Valley College Police Department is located in: Bldg. "E" Room 115 3030 North Dallas Avenue Lancaster, TX 75134 Tel: 972-860-8286 Fax: 972-860-8231 www.cedarvalleycollege.edu The City of Lancaster Police Department and the Cedar Valley College Police Department maintain a concurrent jurisdiction agreement to provide the faculty, staff, students, and visitors with the best possible protection for those on campus. The on-campus extension is 911. Use of call boxes located in S-1, S-2, and W-1(gym) parking lots.
