This is a third person bio written by someone else for information purposes. But we´re running this space, not an intern or a label...
Strand+Tres is the brainchild of two musicians/producers hailing from Madrid, Spain, and based in central Europe. Coming from very different backgrounds together form a power duo where all their wide musical tastes collide in an explosion of hip hop beats and folk sensitivity. Their music can be labeled as hip hop, but there´s way more to it, and it is kind of difficult to niche them into one cliché or genre.
In 2006, they released the Compact & Disperse EP with Madrid´s label Pulpa, a collection of colourful beats blessed with the vocals of Soarse Spoken and Omniscient –two Miami MCs related to the Botanica del JÃbaro camp–, which was selected as second best single of the year by the prestigious Spanish music magazine Rock de Lux. The 12" included also two bangin´remixes by Funckarma and Shadow Huntaz.
They both have their solo projects aswell as contribute with diverse musicians and MCs from all around the world (Dead Capo, Takeshi Nishimoto, Non Genetic...).
During the last year, they have played selected gigs in Europe, and are preparing a full album in collaboration with Omniscient , whose heavy hip hop skills go like peanut butter and jelly with Strand+Tres´ beats. The album will explore their views on current hip hop, and will be graced with heavy beats, analog synths, and live instruments, as well as deep and funky rhymes by Omniscient.
